Has anyone heard the results for this one? Older funky cosmetic and interior updates; definitely not a trailer queen!

    1970 Porsche 911E Targa
    Consignment # 9186
    VIN: 9111120682
    Engine: 6200983 911/01
    Trans: 7103600 911/01
    Mileage: 183k
    Auction Estimate: ?

    Auction Description:
This 911E belonged to the consignor’s neighbor for over 15 years and was rarely used. The consignor was finally to convince him to sell it in July 2012. Before purchase, it was taken to RMG Enterprises in Sunnyvale, where Bob Grisby, a well-known and respected Porsche mechanic, performed a thorough pre-purchase. His 4-page evaluation accompanies the car at auction. The consignor then purchased the car and RMG completed mechanical repairs, which are documented by approximately $5,000 in receipts. All rubber gas and brake lines were replaced, a new brake master cylinder and electric fuel pump were installed, shifter bushings were replaced, new batteries installed, and the engine was tuned. The tires were replaced (has 7-inch rear rims) as well. After the mechanical repair, the car was sent to the body shop to be partially disassembled, repainted and all exterior rubber replaced. The paint is the original Porsche color, but is DuPont PPG with clear coat.

The prior owner advised that following his purchase of the car, he had the engine and transmission rebuilt by a German Porsche mechanic and about 25,000 miles have passed since the rebuild. No receipts are available for the engine and gearbox rebuild, but the pre-purchase evaluation by RMG supports the strong engine.

Looks like an honest and forthright description.

The car seems pretty nice, and E's are getting hard to find. The only comment or question I have is that in the engine photo the barrels seem to be rusted, which would suggest cast barrels and I thought E's had aluminum cylinders? Could be an aftermarket replacement set, which isn't all bad, but just a comment.
