    BaT Description:

This 1971 Porsche 911E is a mildly modified example finished in Light Ivory over a black interior. The selling dealer recently acquired this example from the previous owner, a member of RGruppe who had the car for 38 years and began modifying it in the early 1990s. Metal RS-style rear flares have been added along with 911T rear bumpers, Recaro sport seats, and more. The fuel injection system was rebuilt in 2015, and the matching-numbers 2.2L flat-six was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago in 2016. The car is equipped with staggered 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels, Avon tires, SSI heat exchangers, and a refurbished Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo. This 911E is now being offered in Alabama with owner’s manuals, a tool kit, records from the previous owner, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Florida title.

A set of metal RS-style rear flares were installed in 1991, allowing fitment 15×7″ front and 15×8″ rear Fuchs alloy wheels. The exterior has been repainted in the original Light Ivory (11), and the car is fitted with 911T-style rear bumpers. The flares and bumpers were both sourced from Stoddard, and the Fuchs wheels were refinished by Robert Wood. A handwritten summary of exterior parts and modifications is attached in the gallery and notes a new hood and engine lid shocks, Allan Johnson RS-style rocker trim, new horn grilles, and more. Avon tires measure 185/70 up front and 215/60 out back and show dates codes from 2014 and 2015.

The interior is finished in black and includes a set of Recaro sport seats trimmed in leather, as well as leatherette rear seats and interior panels. A set of 4-point harnesses are installed for the driver and front passenger. An aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel with a Porsche horn button is installed, and the car is equipped with a rebuilt Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo. The car was originally equipped with factory air conditioning, though the system has since been removed. The basketweave dash fascia has been replaced, and a harness bar is mounted low behind the front seats. While filming the car in preparation for sale the seller found that the speedometer and odometer are not working, which will be addressed by the seller prior to delivery. 89k miles are shown on the mechanical odometer. A video showing the interior is viewable, and the removed door pockets, air conditioning compressor, vent tray, and fan motor are pictured in the gallery. The lines, condenser and other hardware remain in the car.

The 2.2L flat-six was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago in 2016, and it is mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle. Invoices totaling more than $16k can be seen in the gallery, documenting the engine rebuild and clutch replacement. The MFI pump, throttle bodies, velocity stacks, and distributor were rebuilt in July 2015. The car retains a factory air box and intake tube. Engine tin and brackets were powder coated by Dynamic Powder Coating. The A/C compressor bracket is present, though the compressor has been removed. A handwritten summary of work performed is provided. Stamping *6210735* can be seen above and matches the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, confirming the engine as original. Transmission #7114513 can be seen in the gallery, though the transmission number is not recorded on the CoA.

Detailed photos of the underside are provided, showing the floors, suspension components, exhaust system, SSI heat exchangers, underside of the driveline, and more. The brake calipers were rebuilt in 2016 and are paired with cross-drilled rotors. The tool roll is present in the trunk, as is a 6″ Fuchs wheel with an older Uniroyal tire. A set of owner’s and driver’s manuals are included, and photos of several registrations showing long-term ownership are attached in the gallery. Photos of the trunk and spare tire well are included with the liner and spare removed. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity displays the the original colors, options, and powertrain numbers.

Do you remember the asking price at RRIV? Curious about the BaT reserve. Will probably be similar.

No price listed in the brochure or posted on the car. I would guess a tad lower on BaT as no sale at RRVi despite a good marketing effort for four days.

Nice 911E Coupe, parked next to it at Rennsport. Believe asking price was $115K.
