My guess is the back bumper was damaged early in it's life and the back bumper got replaced with whatever trim was available or ordered at the time. Remember if it was any of our cars at the time we never would have noticed or cared. Just my .02.

The ad for the Viper Green car states "original paint". Both the compliance sticker and the paint tag have a little paint on them. Definitely not 100% original!

I thought the same thing. I don't like jumping on a seller to point out flaws in a car I have no intention of buying, but the original paint comment really surprised me. They make some bold statements (below). Am I missing something here?

    Seller states:

It was rust and accident free; the original paint was beautiful and the original interior was in like-new condition. It would be a shame to assault the originality of this car with new paint...

...taking care to preserve the original paint, and then the entire car was polished over several painstaking stages to bring it back to as new luster.

I stand by my previous post that a 911 of the day either came (from the factory) with complete front, sides, and rear 'Standard Deco' or optional 'S Deco' on the front sides and rear; not a mix of each. But after inspecting the Road Scholars restoration pictures, with them going through all the preparation, work and expense, I'm baffled as to why they DID NOT change the rear deco to 'S' trim to be consistent with the rest of the deco?

Agreed. And why did they put 7s back on the rear? I think that looks so out of balance without rear flairs. Kind of like (but not as glaring) as a ducktail on a car without flairs.

Either FOUR 6's or FOUR 7's.
Here's my favorite but I'm biased.

That's a great option if you want to spend a bunch of money. If tires like the CR6ZZ are installed the car will handle. Tom Fender had them on 4.5 Fuchs and I've heard he wasn't easy to leave behind.

Wear isn't going to be a highlight but who cares? I like "stick".

I noticed the same thing. Also shouldn't the bumpers include the uglier black rubber bits rather than the more attractive ones installed (if one is showing right?)? It is still a fantastic car though for that money I would rather have that very nice '70 911S AND that Lotus 23 that I have been looking at.
