Car is still on the market 8 months later, now at $47,950: https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/ctd/6127907326.html and here and here: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifi...php?id=2032791

Seller has added some vital information:
this car has a salvage title, numbers don't match, but motor is in the 1973 911 group , it has had a front clip
    - certainly explains front end issues observed by @Mach Schnell.
Currently in between Porsches. Sold my 73.5T Targa, now suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms. Attending Rennsport Reunion VI didn't really help getting over it.

    BaT Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911T Coupe was driven 25k miles by its original owner, who kept the car in Irvine, California and sold it in 1971. The second California-based owner drove it for many years before putting it into garage storage in 1987. The seller acquired this example in non-running condition in 2015 and refurbished it with carburetor rebuilds, new fuel lines, ignition coil, return tubes, and battery. The original 2.0-liter flat-six is now said to run well, and new correct steel wheels have been recently installed. Maintenance records date back to stamps from 1969 found in the original maintenance booklet, and receipts from the work performed by the seller are included along with a Porsche CoA. This 911T is sold with the original owner’s manual, tool kit, jack, and keys, as well as a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Light Ivory (6804) paint is original according to the seller, and has reportedly been verified by a paint meter. A few touch ups that have been reported, one on the right lower corner of the deck lid and one on the top edge of the hood. Three small dings caused by the 1994 Northridge earthquake can be seen on top of the passenger-side fender, door, and roof. The car originally came with 15x 5.5″ ventilated chrome steel wheels. Five new units were sourced from Benton Performance in Anaheim, California in September 2016 and are fitted with period correct Pirelli tires.

Inside, the Black Leatherette (9822) interior has been well-preserved. The original upholstery, Perlon carpeting, and seatbelts are in good shape, with a few small holes in the carpet near the gas pedal and some cracks in the dash speaker grille. There is some original glue on the inside of the A-pillar, and the factory glue for the carpet in the trunk is also visible. The cords on the door pockets have lost elasticity, causing the door panels to sag a little. The only modification to the car is a Mecca head unit that was added sometime in the 1970s and is not working. All of the gauges are said to function, and the clock was replaced with a new OEM unit in 2015. The car was optioned with a 911S instrument panel and fuel tank. The odometer shows 15,783 miles and has rolled over once based on maintenance records.

The original 2.0-liter flat-six is paired to the original 4-speed manual transaxle. The car received a major tune up after the seller purchased it in 2015 and took it out of storage. The work included the following:

    - Carburetors rebuilt
    - Valves adjusted
    - New collapsible return tubes
    - New fuel lines
    - New spark plugs and wires
    - New ignition coil
    - New battery
    - New shifter bushings and coupler
    - Oil/filter change

The car was serviced last week with an oil/filter change, and the seller reports that there are no oil leaks. There is some sweating shown on the photos, but there are no oil drip marks under the car. Engine #6195719 is confirmed as original by the Porsche CoA. Transmission #7091032 is original. The build date was on December 20th, 1968, and optional equipment is confirmed above. A stamped original maintenance booklet shows the first service was in August 1969. The booklet documents maintenance up to the seller, who has included all records from the work done under his ownership. The original tool kit, owner’s manuals, jack, trunk fuse block cover, keys, key fob, and old registration slips are included in the sale.

    Auction Description:

    - Less than 81,000 Miles from New with Special Order Gulf Orange Paint
    - Single Family Ownership Through 2012
    - Matching Numbers and Astonishingly Original Condition Throughout
    - Offered with Window Sticker, Owner’s Manuals, COA, Tools, and Receipts
    - Highly Optioned Example Including 5-Speed Transaxle, Full Leather Interior, and Air-Conditioning

Produced in July 1973 for the US market, this extremely late-production 911 2.4 T Targa is fitted with Bosch K-Jetronic CIS fuel injection and an amazing complement of options. Retailed new via Gus Mozart Porsche/Audi in Palo Alto, California, and finished in special-order Gulf Orange over a black, full-leather interior, the Targa is equipped with leather sport seats, five-speed gearbox, tinted glass, and air-conditioning. Its original list price was a lofty $11,633.50, more than $1,000 higher than the base price of a 911 S.

A California car its entire life, the Targa stayed with first owner Kenneth Rutherford of Portola Valley for 27 years until it was transferred to his son, Scott, in 2000. The current owner acquired the 911 from the younger Rutherford in 2012. Showing less than 81,000 miles, and retaining its matching-numbers engine and transmission, this Targa is in wonderfully preserved original condition. The consignor has had the 911 inspected by Red Line Service of Los Angeles, who stated “…the Gulf Orange paint is original.” The consignor also asserts its original black leather interior has never been dyed. All features are said to function as intended, and the owner’s manuals, original window sticker, spare tire, and tool kit accompany the sale, as do service records reflecting careful use and maintenance.

The 1973 2.4-liter cars are considered by many to be the most evolved of the early 911s, and this extremely compelling Targa’s history, originality, and presentation make it among the finest extant.

    BaT Description:

This 1970 Porsche 911T coupe was acquired by the seller two years ago from a customer who had owned it since 1987. The carbureted 2.2-liter flat-six features a replacement crankcase from a 1970 911E and is coupled with a 5-speed manual transaxle. Finished in Irish Green over Black leatherette, the Karmann coupe is optioned with factory air conditioning as well as 911S instruments and oil tank. It had been driven sparingly by the previous owner in recent years and was serviced by the seller after purchase. This 911T is sold with records from current ownership, a Porsche CoA, and a clean Maryland title. he car was repainted in its original Irish Green (15) before the previous owner bought it 30 years ago. The seller notes that there are a few chips in various areas and normal wear on forward facing surfaces. All of the sheet metal is believed to be original, though there is some damage near the left rear bumperette and deck lid. A small dent can be seen on the right side of the front bumper. Stock 15″ ventilated chrome steel wheels wear Sumitomo HTR tires that carry a DOT code of July 2015 and were newly installed last year.

Inside, the Black Leatherette (11) interior has been fitted with an aftermarket steering wheel and a Blaupunkt cassette radio. The factory A/C vents can be seen below the dash. The carpeting on the floorboard was replaced at some point, and the driver’s seat has a rip in the base and some wear on the outside bolster. This 911T was optioned with a 911S five-gauge instrument cluster. The VDO units are working properly, though the odometer stopped working at 57,270 miles after the seller got the car. It was at ~47k miles when the previous owner bought it in 1987, and some yearly inspection reports show mileage over the years. Approximately 300 miles have been added by the seller since 2015.

The carbureted 2.2-liter flat-six features a replacement crankcase from a 1970 911E and was last serviced in 2016. The previous owner was unaware of this alteration, which was discovered by the seller after obtaining the CoA. The car received a tune-up that included a valve adjustment and carb service in the early 2000s and was driven rarely until two years ago. The previous owner had the fuel tank cleaned and coated, and the seller had the oil changed, the fuel system cleaned, and the two front calipers rebuilt last year. It is described as running well, though the shifter bushings are said to need replacement. A Porsche CoA shows the options and original color combination, and limited service records from the seller also come with the car.
