    BaT Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911T was purchased by the seller as a project in 2014 and relocated to Florida. It then received a 3-year refurbishment that included a bare-metal repaint in the original color, a new interior with houndstooth seat inserts and S trim, and a refreshed suspension system. The matching-numbers 2.0-liter flat-six was also rebuilt and is mated to a 901 5-speed manual transaxle. The set of 14″ Fuchs includes a full-size spare, and a tool kit also comes with the car. This 911T is now being offered with receipts from the refurbishment, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Florida title.

The glass was removed and the body was disassembled before a bare-metal repaint was carried out in the original Polo Red (6802). The single stage process used PPG solid enamel products. White side stripes with Porsche lettering were then applied and are correct for this car according to the CoA. H4 headlights have been fitted with new chrome rings up front, and the rubber seals have been replaced throughout the entire car. All five of the 14″ Fuchs are said to wear matching date stamps and are fitted with Kumho Solus KR21 tires.

The cabin was refurbished by Tony Garcia of Autobahn Interiors with new black leather upholstery and houndstooth inserts on the front seats. A wooden-rimmed Nardi steering wheel is currently installed, though the original VDM item shown in the gallery below is also included. Red and black Coco mats protect the new carpets underneath. VDO gauges were rebuilt by North Hollywood Speedometer, and a Becker Europa II AM/FM stereo has replaced the original Blaupunkt Frankfurt unit. The 5-digit odometer indicates 28k miles and is believed to have rolled once. Approximately 500 miles have been added by the seller since the project was completed in 2017.

The 2.0-liter flat-six is paired with a Type 901 5-speed manual transaxle. A split-case engine rebuild was performed by Bruce Ellsworth of Klub Sport Racing in West Palm Beach, Florida, including new pistons and cylinders, main and rod bearings, custom heads by Axtel, TEC balanced crank, new intermediate shaft and chains, oil-fed chain tensioners, and refurbished Weber carburetors. The seller notes the engine was assembled with new cadmium-plated hardware. Stamping *6195325* matches the Porsche CoA, confirming the engine as original. A new clutch, pressure plate, and throwout bearing were installed, and the fuel tank, fuel pump, and fuel lines were replaced. The car is also equipped with CDI ignition, SSI heater boxes, and the original muffler. The steering rack was rebuilt, and the suspension was renewed with fresh struts, A-arms, and torsion bars.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms the build date, serial numbers, original colors, and optional equipment. Receipts and invoices from the rebuild process are also included along with the original Fuchs spare wheel , VDM steering wheel, and a newer tool kit.

    BaT Description:

This 1971 Porsche 911T was first sold in California and remained there with the previous owner for about 25 years until it was purchased by the seller in 2011 and relocated to Arizona. A top end rebuild of the swapped 2.7-liter flat-six was then performed along with a rebuild of the 5-speed manual transaxle and overhauls of the carburetors, brakes, and suspension. The body was also repainted in Signal Orange, S trim and bumpers were installed, and new 15″ Fuchs wheels were mounted. The work was finished in 2013, and approximately 3,400 miles have been added since. Records dating back to 1979 come with the car along with over $54k of invoices covering the rebuilds and paintwork. This 911T is now being offered with the original owner’s manual, blue California license plate, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

Paint and body work were performed after the seller trailered the car from California to Arizona in 2011. It was disassembled, stripped down to bare metal, and received rust repairs with new and donor sheetmetal. The body was then repainted in the original Signal Orange color. A side mirror from a 1972 911 replaced the original unit, and new windshield and window trim, seals, horn grilles, head and taillight bulbs, rear reflectors, engine lid grille, emblems, and chrome exhaust tip were installed.

New 911S rocker trim and bumpers were also installed after the paintwork was completed, though a crack in the rubber is now present on both rear bumperettes. Originally equipped with the steel wheels, the car has been fitted with 15″ Fuchs wearing Bridgestone Potenza tires with date codes from 2012.

Interior work included recovering the dash and the installation of a new headliner, RS-style door panels, rear parcel shelf assembly, retractable 3-point seat belts, and Perlon felt carpets. The seller notes that the passenger-side window is difficult to roll up and down. The VDO gauges, instrument panel, and radio were repaired in 2011, and a new basketweave dash panel with 911T emblem was fitted. The 5-digit odometer was reset to zero at that time and currently indicates 3,400 miles.

A 2.7-liter flat-six from a 1977 911S was reportedly installed by the previous owner in the early 1990s. A top end rebuild of the engine was completed in November 2011, and the Weber carburetors were also overhauled. The work was performed by Porsche Technik of Flagstaff, Arizona, now known as Partsklassik. The 5-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt in June 2011, and in 2012 the undercoating was stripped, cleaned, and reapplied. A complete SSI exhaust system including mufflers and heat exchangers was installed in September 2013.

In 2012, the suspension system was overhauled, with factory parts being rebuilt and powder coated when possible. Bilstein shocks and struts were installed, and the tie rods, control arms, a torsion bars, ball joints, and bearings were replaced. The brakes were also refreshed in 2012 with new rotors and master cylinder, and all four calipers were overhauled. Service records from 1979 to 2011 are included along with photographs and receipts from the refurbishment project. The owner’s manual, two sets of keys, and original blue California license plate also come with the car.

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was sold new at Wood Imports of Detroit, Michigan on November 24, 1972 and spent time in Ohio before it was acquired by the seller from its third owner out of Texas in 2015. Finished in Silver Metallic over black leatherette, the car is equipped with its original fuel injected 2.4-liter flat-six and 915 5-speed manual transaxle. New chain tensioners and rails were installed two years ago, and more recent work included servicing the fuel system and installation of new brake components. Photos document fitment of new steel fenders and a repaint earlier this year. This 911T is offered with service records, handwritten mileage and fuel fill-up logs, period literature, a Porsche CoA, spare parts, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name. The body was taken from red back to its original shade of Silver Metallic (80) earlier this year following the installation of new steel fenders. Rust repair and bodywork were reportedly performed by the previous owner, and evidence of the prior shade is still present in the door jambs.

H4 headlamps were fitted by the seller, while the radio antenna and windshield washers have not been reinstalled but are included in the sale. The car rides on 15” Fuchs wheels wearing Westlake tires which are date-coded from 2008 and should be replaced due to age. A new brake master cylinder was recently fitted along with rebuilt front calipers and fresh rubber hoses.

The interior is trimmed in black leatherette with salt and pepper carpets. Wear is noted on the driver’s outer bolster, and the seats would reportedly benefit from new padding, which accompanies the vehicle. A wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel and Becker Europa stereo have been installed. Just under 72k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, just over 1,600 of which were added by the seller.

The numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six was fitted with new chain tensioners and rails in 2016 along with replacement heat exchangers, spark plugs, mechanical fuel injection components, and more as detailed on the receipts in the gallery below. The fuel system was recently adjusted, and a leakdown test showed between 4% and 7% loss across all six cylinders. Shifting is through a 915 5-speed manual transaxle Additional lift photos in the gallery show the underbody and suspension components. An oil leak is noted by the seller, who also describes slow starting when the car is warm. Engine stamping #6130767 matches the CoA, confirming the engine as original. The matching transmission stamping is #7331278. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity confirms the original colors and lists the matching engine and transmission numbers.

This is a really clean early 911T with original color. I have owned this car for 34 years and have loved every minute of driving it. It has 93,400 miles. When I bought it had 71000 miles. So in 34 years I have only put 22000 miles on it and that is only about 650 miles a year. I have to part with it but age and family issues make me. Clear Title in my name. I am a senior and have a difficult time on my computer, so I prefer you to call instead of texting. I am retired and available most days. Thank You

    BaT Description:

This 1971 Porsche 911T coupe was originally sold at Neufeld Porsche in Burlingame, California finished in Conda Green over a black interior. The numbers-matching 2.4L flat-six is paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle and was rebuilt approximately 30k miles ago with 911S pistons, 911E-spec camshafts, and Weber 40 IDA carburetors. According to the selling dealer, the car has remained in Northern California from new and was recently acquired from the previous owner of 42 years. It had primarily sat since 1993 and was recommissioned with new brakes, a new fuel pump and hoses, four new tires, Corbeau front seats, a new front carpet kit, and more as listed below. This 911 is now offered with a blue California license plate, the factory front seats, original Zenith carburetors, a leather bra and car cover, some records, a Porsche CoA, and a clean California title. According to the seller, this 911T was refinished in a darker shade of green years ago and was subsequently repainted in the factory Conda Green. The roof is now showing oxidization, and other cosmetic issues include chipping in the finish, cracking on the front trunk lid, a warped front valence, and more. The optional 14″ light metal wheels have been replaced with a set of 15″ cookie cutter alloys, which were recently mounted with new 185/70 series Vredstein Sprint Classic tires. Recent brake work included rebuilding all four calipers and installing a new master cylinder, new rotors and pads, and new rubber hoses.

Inside, a pair of Corbeau GTA front seats were fitted along with a new front carpet kit. The factory seat belts were retained and the original seats are also included as pictured below. Per the seller, the rear seat backrests have a few holes. The factory parcel shelf is included along with a new rear carpet kit. The dashboard is cracked, so a cap was recently fitted as pictured above. An aftermarket 3-spoke steering wheel is equipped, and the seller states that the interior/exterior lighting, heater, and turn signals work. The horn and factory clock are inoperable. The odometer displays 64,604 miles but is not functional, and total mileage is unknown.

The numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six was reportedly rebuilt about 30k miles ago with with 911S pistons, camshafts ground to 911E spec by Elgin Cams in Redwood City, California, and Weber 40 IDA carburetors. The original Zenith carburetors are included and pictured below. Recent work included carburetor disassembly and cleaning, engine and transaxle oil changes, a new fuel filter, new distributor cap/rotor/points, new spark plugs, and two new batteries. The factory 5-speed transaxle also received three new bushings. Note the 6-digit California blue license plate and Neufeld Porsche-Audi frame above. Engine # 6117195 is shown above, which matches the CoA as original to the chassis. Transmission #7118703 is also pictured in the gallery, with the CoA stating #7118709 was original.

The original front seats are in need of reupholstering but are included along with the Zenith carburetors, a new window seal, the rear parcel shelf, a new rear carpet kit, leather bra, car cover, and other miscellaneous items.

    Auction Description:

    - 1972 'E-Series', non-sunroof car fully restored and upgraded to 'S' spec
    - Full body restoration including new wings, doors, quarter panels and superbly finished in Gulf Blue
    - Mechanical restoration including engine rebuild (dyno shows 177.5 bhp), new clutch, exhaust, oil pipes, wheels refurbished
    - Interior fully retrimmed in Black. Upgrades include digital radio with blue tooth and hands-free
    - Document wallet, owners manual, 2 sets of keys, tracker, immobiliser. Recent service and MoT.
    - The registration number illustrated does not form part of the sale

This smart 911 began life as a right-hand drive, UK-supplied 911T and a some point underwent a full body and mechanical restoration and upgrade resulting in what is, effectively, a 911S. The body was fitted with new wings, doors, quarter panels, etc and superbly finished in a period Gulf Blue, and the wheels were fully refurbished. The interior and seating were retrimmed in Black using the correct period materials and upgraded with a digital radio with Bluetooth and hands-free. The 2.4-litre engine was rebuilt and fitted with new oil pipes, a new clutch, and exhaust system. We understand that a Dyno print out indicates an output of 177.5bhp. There are two large A4 folders detailing the full body and mechanical restoration which, we are advised, couldn't be replicated for less than £140K plus the donor vehicle.

The Porsche is fitted with an immobiliser and a Tracker and is accompanied by a document wallet, owner's manual, and both sets of keys. It has recently been serviced and issued with a fresh MoT Certificate.

NB; The cherished number, '1 BRA' does not form part of the sale.

While they have it listed as a '72, the VIN says it's a '73, so no oil flapper. And the smuggler's box looks odd to us because that's what RHD boxes looked like.

Never knew that about the smuggler's box. Good to know. As regards the fuel delivery system, this car does not have the MFI, but at least it has a set of Webber's instead of Zeniths. I don't know if I would have cut off the end of the snorkel. If the owner wanted more air going to the motor, goings with a set of K&N's would do the job better - and give you a throatier sound to boot.
