    Auction Description:

    *Matching numbers car
*Finished in striking tangerine over black
*Last year of the long hood, small bumper 911
*Offered with Porsche COA and history file

Equipped for the US market, it is believed that this Targa was delivered new to a Mr. McClure of Gastonia, North Carolina. The car was optioned with the desirable forged alloy wheels, Koni shocks (instead of the traditional Boge), and stabilizer bars in the front and rear. Besides that, the car was treated with loudspeaker and noise suppression, comfort equipment and tinted glass all around. Indeed, a driver's car with the right mix of sport and comfort.

After the passing of Mr. McClure in the late '80s the car was placed in a dry storage until 1995, when it discovered and bought by Mr. Stafford, who moved it to another dry storage but never got to the restoration. The consignor, who is believed to be only the third owner, bought the car in very original but non-running condition. Since acquiring it, the consignor has treated the Targa to a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration. Receipts and photos of the work performed can be found in the car's extensive history file, along with the Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity.

Today, this matching numbers 911T Targa from the final production year of the 'classic' 911 shows beautifully both inside and out. The car was delivered to the US in a Metallic Green over a Beige/Tan Leatherette interior but is now presented in the period correct Tangerine over an appropriate black with Houndstooth interior. With an enticing power band, excellent road holding, and the pure, unmistakable look of the classic 911 Targa, the 2.4-liter cars are among the best ever to come out of Porsche's workshops.

Just saw this, there's a nice original 1 owner 1971 Targa in Gold on "Bring a Trailer".
    http://bringatrailer.com/listing/197...he-911t-targa/

    Ad reads as follows:

"This 1971 Porsche 911T Targa has been with the current owner since new and was recently removed from 21 years of storage. It was repainted factory Gold Metallic once in the 1970s and has been fitted with later-style bumperettes, but the car remains fundamentally original overall with its matching-numbers engine as confirmed by the included Porsche CoA. The car is sold with extensive documentation dating back to when it was new all shown below, and has been recommissioned for the road with work that included cleaning of the carburetors and a flush of the fuel tank. New brake lines, shift bushings, and fluids have also been installed.
This car was originally leased by the owner, and she opted to purchase it at the conclusion of the lease. It was driven regularly through the 1970s, and had over 100k miles by the middle of the decade. The car was bumped in a parking lot during this period, requiring a new rear bumper and repair to the deck lid.
The only outward modification are the bumperettes from a ’73 model. These were added during a 1970s repaint to help guard against further parking lot mishaps.
The older paintwork shows some wear. Some light surface corrosion is present in areas where the paint has worn through, most notably under the headlights. The corrosion is said to be on the surface only, with no thin metal or rot-through. There is some crazing and checking in the finish elsewhere, plus small dings and dents from regular use, though the car presents as a solid driver. One of the foglight lenses is cracked.
The rockers and floors are straight, with original undercoating still present. There is no evidence of improper jacking or creasing on the sills.
The interior is unrestored and well preserved overall. Original equipment is present throughout, from the steering wheel and gauges to the dealer-installed radio. There is a split on the driver’s seat and a crack in the dash. The headliner on the targa panel is sagging, and the stop is missing from the passenger’s door. Otherwise, the interior otherwise shows well for its age and mileage.
The rear of the cabin is also in good shape. A pair of speakers have been added to the rear tray, likely as a dealer fitted item in-period.
The original 2.2L flat-six recently had its carburetors cleaned and received new fluids. The seller has also replaced the brake lines, shift bushings, and flushed the fuel tank since the car was taken out of storage. The engine is said to pull strongly above 2000rpm, though it could benefit from further driving to help clear the fuel passages at lower revs. The car idles well and pulls away smoothly.
The underside of the car is straight and shows no evidence of past rust repair, and the seller notes that original coatings are still present throughout. All of the normal 911 trouble-spots are in solid condition from the rockers to the smuggler’s box. The car is sold with the tires it was stored on, which are fine for transport but will need to be replaced before the car is driven regularly.
Engine #6114420 is confirmed as original by the CoA. The odometer has rolled once and the car has 127k total miles.

The CoA confirms that this car remains in its original configuration

Extensive documentation for the car back to new can be seen in the gallery below, and consists of service records, manuals, the original maintenance/warranty book which shows a representative at Atlas Auto Leasing as the original owner. The seller is representing the car on behalf of the elderly owner."

Looks like a former California, USA car. Are you able to share the asking price and chassis number?

    Auction Description:

    - Fresh service

This rare 1973 Porsche 911T Targa – one of just 1,302 produced in that model year – is a desirably optioned car with only 54,000 believed-original miles. The year 1973 was the swan song for the second generation 911 which was produced from 1969-1973. This series of 911 is highly coveted within the Porsche world and is acknowledged as being a substantially improved car over its predecessor first generation 911. The final iteration of that great second generation of 911 is recognized for three major milestones; it was last year of the long hood – small bumper body design, it was the last year of the 2.4 liter six cylinder engine and it was the first year to feature the new “915” 5-speed transmission. The long hood – small bumper body style of the second generation 911 is considered by many to be the most aesthetically pleasing and pure rendition of this iconic shape. The U.S. specification 2.4L engine for the 911T was now fuel injected and produced 130 horsepower. The new “915” transmission was a significant step forward over the earlier type “901” transmission which had a “dog-leg” first gear slot. The new “915” 5-speed had a conventional H-pattern for gears 1-4 and proved to be a more user-friendly arrangement. This particular 911T Targa has a number of desirable options. The interior has the classic “low back” sports seats – trimmed in black leather with cloth houndstooth (Pepita) inserts. The exterior trim features the 911S appearance group which includes bold aluminum trim pieces along the rocker panels, a front chin spoiler and larger rubber deco strips on the bumpers. The rich Ivory exterior color, the brushed stainless steel Targa roll hoop and the anodized Fuchs wheels complete the classic presentation on this beautiful Porsche 911T Targa.

Of course. Wait two years from now. The charlatans will be selling cars that will be razzle-dazzled, and without an inspection, lots of folks will be totally misled.
