    Auction Description:

This wonderful matching numbers 911 2.4”T” we offer is fitted with the desirable sunroof option and has in recent years been comprehensively restored, and mechanically overhauled. Included in the history file are numerous photos documenting the restoration work.

Finished in the very chic colour combination of Ivory White with black “Pepita” interior, the bodywork is in great condition, and we are pleased to note that the 911 is fitted with some special factory options including sports seats, sunroof, stabilizer bars, electric windows and a comfort package. This well specified example is Porsche certified and ready to enjoy!

    FS: @MECUM Auctions Monterey - 1973.5 2.4L CIS 911T Targa

Perfect example of what makes folks suspicious of Auction Houses; rough exterior, ugly updated interior, (A/C or no AC?) and a meaningless description that does not say a specific thing about this car.

    Auction Description:

Model-year 1973 for the Porsche 911 signifies the final year of the second-generation cars produced from 1969-73. Regarded by many as the most desirable of the early production 911 cars, this series introduced numerous significant mechanical and stylistic changes that elevated the car from its first-generation progenitor 911 that first appeared in 1964 and ceased production in 1968. The wheelbase was increased by 2.2 inches, which added greater stability and ride comfort, the front suspension was redesigned to incorporate MacPherson struts, the rear-fender arches were flared, and wider wheels and tires were made available providing a much-needed increase to contact patch. Model-year 1973 was also the last year of the long hood, a small-bumper style that would be replaced by short-hood, big-bumper cars in 1974. The 911T was the most popular model of the 911s, with two other higher-performance variants available in the 911E and the 911S. Most buyers opted for the 911T with its very manageable low-end torque. This is the “Targa” body style, an open car that can be made weathertight with the installation of a vinyl top that snaps into place with its attached expanding metal frame. The Targa was an innovative design that served two purposes; it greatly enhanced the roll-over protection for the occupants while maintaining the structural integrity of the vehicle, but moreover, the Targa style created an entirely new design language for Porsche. As such, the model would sustain in future generations of 911. This Targa is equipped with the iconic stainless-steel cover on the roll hoop, cookie-cutter-style alloy wheels and the optional exterior appearance-group package. This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa also features the one-year-only narrow and extended black rubber bumper guards on the front and rear.

    Dealer Description:

Super Clean Numbers Matching and Well Maintained 2 Owner 1971 911T in Signal Orange over Black Leather interior. This 911T has been in Colorado Springs since new. Garage kept and covered most of its life. The car was repainted in the original Signal Orange color roughly 20 years ago and it still shows exceptionally well. The Black Leather interior shows in excellent condition and well cared for with no major cracks or wear marks.

Air Conditioning was added to the car when it was new and has since been removed. The original wheels, hub caps, and air intake housing are still with the car. The previous owner had a local air-cooled engine shop rebuild the engine last year and fewer than 500 miles have been put on the car since then. The car comes with a fairly complete service history from the previous owners and a Certificate of Authenticity notating the engine and transmission numbers are original to the car.

    Simon,

Not sure how to PM you (new user I guess) but I have a '71T listed in the Cars for Sale section. It's an original Albert blue car as well although it's not an oil flap like the '72.
