More detail would be great. Remarkably vague description and photo package. Looks like an honest driver but not sure I understand the high projections?

"ALL ORIGINAL unrestored"... Are they implying original paint?

Aftermarket radio and plastic heater hoses speak volumes about the effort put into bringing this car to market.

I suppose but this car smells like one those that were very common for us in the '80's... well maintained and loved but utilitarian first and foremost. Once the baton gets passed to a dealer or huckster suddenly it's worth the moon. Ultimately bidders will decide.

    BaT Description:

This 1969 Porsche 911T Targa was sold new in Culver City, California and purchased in 1979 by the second owner, who added about 65k miles before the current owner’s acquisition in the mid 2000s. The car has been repainted in Guards Red over black leather, and the replacement 2.0L flat-six is paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. The car has mostly been in storage since 2005, though it was reportedly started and driven around the block about once a month. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale, and the carburetor jets were also cleared. This 911T is now offered on behalf of the current owner with the factory books, older service records, and a clean California title. Originally Polo Red, the car was repainted in Guards Red in 1984. It features an unpainted targa bar and chrome steel wheels with hubcaps. The tires are said to date from the late 1980s or early 1990s, and photos are provided of the inside of the targa panel. A pair of badges are affixed to the engine grille, and the car wears a 6-digit California blue plate out back. A vintage ski rack is included and also mounts to the rear grille. Closeups of the trim and finish can be seen in the gallery, and rust bubbles are shown at the lower edges of both doors and on the passenger-side front fender. The car retains US-market lighting, with sugar-scoop headlight rings and sealed-beam lights.

The cabin features black leather upholstery and matching carpets. The seller notes that the carpets might be replacements, as the pile appears to be incorrect. An Alpine cassette radio is installed in the dash. Per the seller, some wind noise is apparent from the side window seals. The car retains factory instrumentation, including a centrally-mounted tachometer. The odometer was reportedly reset when the engine was replaced and now shows just over 67k miles. The current owner has only added about 500 miles.

The original 2.0L flat-six was removed in 1977 due to an unknown issue. The replacement engine was sourced from another 1969 911T Targa and carries number 6195932. An electric fuel pump has been added in the engine bay, and an aftermarket ignition box is also installed. The current owner reportedly performed a tune-up and added fuel stabilizer before putting the car in storage. The seller performed an oil change and cleared the carburetor jets. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. The rear suspension bushings creak over bumps as shown in an attached video. Corrosion is noted on exposed metal surfaces under the car, and the front pans have been replaced. Factory books are included along with older service records are provided.

    BaT Description:

This 1972 Porsche 911T coupe was reportedly sold new in Oregon and brought to California in the late 1980s, where it was acquired by its current owner from a mechanic two years ago. Power is from a numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six paired with a 915 5-speed manual transaxle, both of which were rebuilt in February 2018. Additional maintenance under current ownership included the installation of a new clutch, shocks, brakes, suspension bushings, and axle boots. A repaint was also performed last year, and the interior was refreshed with new sport seats, carpets, and trim. This 911T is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, records beginning in the late 1970s, a manual, period sales brochures, an Oregon license plate, and a clean California title in the owner’s name. Originally finished in Albert Blue, the body received a single-stage repaint in its current shade of blue last year. The work reportedly involved removal of the glass and replacement of rubber seals, and the resulting finish is shown.

Exterior trim includes chrome bumpers with overriders, black rear deck lid badging, and Euro-spec amber taillights. Painted 15×7” steel wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Direzza tires that show 2016 date codes. The factory 15″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with new Pirelli CN36 tires and included in the sale.

Black sport seats with corduroy inserts are joined by tan squareweave carpets, black coco mats, and tartan trim on the door panels and dash. A 3-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel with a Porsche horn button has been installed along with a wood shift knob. The dash houses a Becker Europa AM/FM stereo as well as an air conditioning system that has reportedly been converted to run R134a refrigerant. The 5-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 2,000 of which were added by the current owner.

Power is provided by a fuel-injected 2.4L flat-six mated to a 915 5-speed manual transaxle. Both were rebuilt by Mistress Silverlake of Los Angeles, California in February 2018, and receipts for the work are provided. Engine block stamping #6120912 matches that listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. New shocks, suspension bushings, axle boots, and brake components were installed last year according to the seller. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the original options and colors as well as listing the matching engine number.

    FS: @PCA Classifieds - 1973.5 911T Targa - 59k miles

The engine compartment raises a question:
The original '73 CIS airbox snorkel, isn't it a longer length?
Realistic price compared to the over inflated Amelia Island auction estimates.

Checked out the car in person today, and it's a mixed bag of (some) good and bad:

    The good:
It's a 73T Targa. Minimal rust, seems structurally fine. Original interior except for minor things. Color code 700 = originally black.

    The bad:
The car is on the dealer's lot, outside. We had the most rain lately in forever, and this poor dog has been sitting outside all the time. Interior is damp, the carpet is wet to the touch. Windows were fogged up from the inside. Front trunk release was inop, so couldn't open the front hood. Paint is a 10-footer at best.

The car is FSBO, asking price has been reduced from $60k to $55k to $49,500 in a matter of 2-3 weeks.
Currently in between Porsches. Sold my 73.5T Targa, now suffering from serious withdrawal symptoms. Attending Rennsport Reunion VI didn't really help getting over it.

    Past: '73.5T Targa, '12 991S Cab, '07 987
