BaT Description:
This 1972 Porsche 911T coupe was reportedly sold new in Oregon and brought to California in the late 1980s, where it was acquired by its current owner from a mechanic two years ago. Power is from a numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six paired with a 915 5-speed manual transaxle, both of which were rebuilt in February 2018. Additional maintenance under current ownership included the installation of a new clutch, shocks, brakes, suspension bushings, and axle boots. A repaint was also performed last year, and the interior was refreshed with new sport seats, carpets, and trim. This 911T is offered by the seller on behalf of its current owner with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, records beginning in the late 1970s, a manual, period sales brochures, an Oregon license plate, and a clean California title in the owner’s name. Originally finished in Albert Blue, the body received a single-stage repaint in its current shade of blue last year. The work reportedly involved removal of the glass and replacement of rubber seals, and the resulting finish is shown.
Exterior trim includes chrome bumpers with overriders, black rear deck lid badging, and Euro-spec amber taillights. Painted 15×7” steel wheels are wrapped in Dunlop Direzza tires that show 2016 date codes. The factory 15″ Fuchs wheels are mounted with new Pirelli CN36 tires and included in the sale.
Black sport seats with corduroy inserts are joined by tan squareweave carpets, black coco mats, and tartan trim on the door panels and dash. A 3-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel with a Porsche horn button has been installed along with a wood shift knob. The dash houses a Becker Europa AM/FM stereo as well as an air conditioning system that has reportedly been converted to run R134a refrigerant. The 5-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 2,000 of which were added by the current owner.
Power is provided by a fuel-injected 2.4L flat-six mated to a 915 5-speed manual transaxle. Both were rebuilt by Mistress Silverlake of Los Angeles, California in February 2018, and receipts for the work are provided. Engine block stamping #6120912 matches that listed on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. New shocks, suspension bushings, axle boots, and brake components were installed last year according to the seller. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows the original options and colors as well as listing the matching engine number.
