    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was purchased by the current owner six years ago and subsequently refurbished, including a repaint in factory Metallic Green. Power is provided by a numbers-matching, rebuilt 2.4-liter flat-six, which retains CIS fuel injection and is paired with a rebuilt Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes anodized aluminum lower rocker trim, Fuchs wheels, a tan leatherette interior, Coco mats, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. Modifications include Fuchs wheels, while items replaced during 2014/2015 refurbishment included the front suspension pan and fuel pump. The fuel distributor, fuel tank, and warm up regulator were also refurbished. This 911 Targa is now offered on the current owner’s behalf with recent service records, a spare set of wheels, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Michigan title.

This car is one of 1,302 911T Targas produced for the US market with CIS injection. Refurbishment work included stripping the body of old paint, repairing rust, and performing a repaint in the original color of Metallic Green (83), which was reportedly special ordered when new. Brightwork is present on the rocker panels, bumpers, wheel arches, and around the glass. A brushed stainless steel targa bar and refurbished removable roof panel are also equipped. The 15″ Fuchs wheels wear Goodyear Eagle GT tires, and the car has been fitted with European-style headlights. The emergency brake was serviced in 2015.

The refurbished tan leatherette interior received new seat covers and tan carpets in 2014. The two-tone black and tan door panels were replaced in 2015 along with other interior trim, and the dashboard, rear side interior panels, rear shelf, steering wheel, and sun visors were refinished in 2017. The black and tan dashboard houses a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and the horn was repaired and a new oil level gauge was installed in 2015. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, 6k of which were added by the current owner. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.4-liter flat-six is equipped with CIS fuel injection and was rebuilt in 2015 with a new fuel pump, seals, O-rings, intake and exhaust valves, valve guides, a control pressure regulator, a muffler, and rebuilt connecting rods. The rebuilt five-speed manual gearbox received a new ring and pinion, new synchros, and a repaired shift linkage in 2015, and a new clutch was also installed. The results of a May 2018 compression test are included in the gallery below and show between 185-195 psi across all cylinders. Engine stamping *6133569* matches that listed on the included CoA, confirming the engine as original.

Seller's description: 1973.5 Porsche 911T Coupe: One owner since new; stored in San Jose California and not driven since the 1970's; all numbers match; engine runs well; mostly untouched original paint (rare factory metallic green). This rare CIS injection late '73 911 was parked in one place for decades and not started. We became aware of this car about 9 years ago but the owners did not want to sell it for sentimental reasons. Recently they changed their minds and sold it to us. The family had purchased the car new and stopped driving it in the late 1970's and it sat untouched ever since. We cleaned up the engine bay and changed the fluids, cleaned the fuel system and the car started right up. Runs well on all cylinders. Floors and undercarriage are original. Excellent car for restoration. We go to extents to document our cars in pictures and provide the most transparent listings on Ebay. Please study the pictures carefully rather than requesting descriptions. Please complete any inspections or ask any questions prior to bidding or committing to buy the car. Thanks for the interest!

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe is finished in Olive over black and powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six from a 911SC. Additional equipment includes a 915 transaxle, 911S brake calipers, GTS Classics seats, 15″ Fuchs wheels, Euro-style lights, A/C, and a 911S front valance. The car was acquired by the seller a year ago and has since been driven about 2k miles. The larger engine was installed by a previous owner and has been modified by the seller with SSI heat exchangers and a ceramic-coated M&K 911R muffler. This final-year 911T is now offered with recent compression test results and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

The exterior is finished in Olive and was reportedly repainted by the previous owner about eight years ago. Exterior additions include a 911S front valance and a polished engine grille, as well as European-style H4 headlamps and orange rear turn signals. The 15″ Fuchs wheels feature polished spokes and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires showing 2009 date codes. The seller states that 911S alloy calipers are installed.

The cabin is upholstered in black, including the Monte Carlo seats from GTS Classics. An aluminum gas pedal has been added, and photos in the gallery show the floors beneath the black carpeting. The 3-spoke MOMO steering wheel is wrapped in leather and equipped with a Porsche horn button. A 911SC air conditioning system is connected to vents mounted to the bottom of the dashboard, which retains a factory AM/FM radio. 50k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, 2k of which were added by the seller in a year.

The 3.0-liter M930 flat-six is from a later 911SC and was reportedly rebuilt to European specification by a previous owner. The engine is equipped an aftermarket air box, a fan housing strap, and Turbo lower valve covers. The oil was reportedly changed 2k miles ago. An invoice in the gallery from May 2019 shows 100-116 psi of compression and 4-10% leak down across all six cylinders. Photos of gauge readings show slightly lower compression. The SSI heat exchangers and a ceramic-coated M&K 911R muffler were reportedly added in the last 1,200 miles, and power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed 915 manual transaxle.

    Dealer Description:

Many years ago when you could buy a great, rust free California 911 for $35,000 I purchased this 911 to relive a time long past. One of my friends wanted an exact replica of the 911T he purchased from Bill Jones in San Antonio Texas when he got out of the Air Force. He had to have a CIS injection Sephia Brown 911 set up exactly as Bill Jones did it back in the day. The great news here is I talked him out of Brown and talked him into this Grey Beige one you see here. We found this car on Ebay with one repaint and zero rust and bought it. Upon receiving the car the engine and transmission were sent to Chris Powell at Chris's German in Bellevue Washington to be rebuild and warmed up! The original block was set aside(included with the sale) and another used for the build. The body of the car was beautiful and was stripped down to the bare shell to find very little had to be done metal wise. The bottom was re-undercoated, the panels smoothed to perfection and the glass like paint applied in its original color. This car was completely gone through. To give the car the Bill Jones touch we lowered it a hair, added 7′ wheels on the back and S Spoiler up front. Inside we located a set of original sport seats and had Tony at Autobahn interiors work his magic with the rest and used a Prototype steering wheel just like he had in 1973. The finished product is stunning! My client took this 911 to the Porsche parade in St. Charles IL and won the performance class! The car has been driven less than 800 miles since and runs and shows fantastic.

Sad. I can't grasp that mentality. I'd need to take a road trip in that car. Maybe cross country.

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T is European-market coupe that was acquired by the seller as a disassembled project in 2010. Over the course of five years, the seller, who is also a longtime PCA member performed a refurbishment with the help of an independent Porsche specialist. Finished in dark metallic blue over a black interior, the car is equipped with 15″ Fuchs wheels, a MOMO steering wheel, and Recaro seats from a BMW. Power is provided by a 2.4-liter flat-six featuring Zenith carburetors and upgraded chain tensioners. The refurbishment included rebuilds of the five-speed 915 transaxle, fuel system, and brakes, as well as the installation of new S trim, rubber seals, and interior components. Approximately 5,200 miles have been added since the work was completed. This 911T is now offered with a tool pouch, records back to 2010, and a clear Washington title in the seller’s name.

A repaint in Ford Royal Blue was performed under previous ownership in the 1990s, though the car sat unassembled until the seller’s refurbishment. New H4 headlights were installed during reassembly, along with S trim, new rubber gaskets, and a set of amber tail lamps. A scratch is noted on the left front fender as are two small paint bubbles on the hood. Three small holes have been filled on the engine cover, evidence of which is visible under direct light. The seller also indicates that the driver’s door should be realigned. According to the door tag, the factory color was Emerald Green (225). 15” Fuchs are wrapped in a set of Bridgestone Potenzas, and a matching spare resides in the front compartment. The suspension is set at European-market ride height, and a new master cylinder, four rebuilt calipers, replacement rotors, new pads, and stainless braided hoses were installed during the refurbishment.

The shifter assembly and pedal box have been rebuilt with new bushings, and a replacement headliner and carpet are fitted. Recaro seats from a BMW are trimmed in black leatherette, and a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel has been added. A dash cap is fitted over the factory dash, which is cracked. VDO instrumentation includes a US-market speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline. 84k miles are shown on the odometer, approximately 5,200 of which have been added by the seller since 2015. The high-idle hand throttle and heater blower are reported to work.

The 2.4-liter flat-six was disassembled, inspected, and re-sealed during the refurbishment. A new engine pad and powder coated engine tin were added this time, and the Zenith induction system and distributor were rebuilt. Power is routed through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle, which has been fitted with new synchros for 1st and 2nd gear. Records for parts and service dating back to 2010 are included with the sale.

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa is said to have been originally delivered to Porsche of South Shore in Long Island, New York. The seller acquired the car five years ago, and a subsequent project included an overhaul of the engine, suspension, and more. The fuel-injected flat-six was expanded to 2.7 liters and the 5-speed 915 transaxle was rebuilt. The exterior was repainted in Jade Green Metallic and fitted with a soft rear window, and the interior now features bucket seats and custom tan and brown upholstery. Recent services included an oil change and a torquing of the head studs. This 2.7L-powered longhood 911 is now offered with invoices for the mechanical work and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name. The body was reportedly repainted in Jade Green Metallic four years ago. Modifications include a 911S steel front valance, a soft rear window from Autobahn Interiors, and early-style chrome rear bumper guards. The seller states that the targa top was rebuilt, and the removed rear glass window is included in the sale. Forward lighting consists of H4 headlamps and Cibie fog light mounted to the hood. The rear light lenses were replaced, and clear factory H4 lenses are included. Refinished 15″ Fuchs wheels measure 6″ wide up front, 7″ wide out back, and are mounted with Falken Ziez tires showing 2015 date codes. The brake calipers were rebuilt, and drilled discs were installed.

The bucket seats are upholstered in tan leather with houndstooth inserts. Brown carpets line the floor, and photos of the metal panels beneath can be seen. The dash face has been trimmed in tan, and the pedal cluster was rebuilt. The 4-spoke steering wheel is retained but the horn button is inoperative. 72k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer, 3k of which were added by the seller in five years.

The M911 flat-six was rebuilt using JE pistons and cylinders with 9:1 compression and is said to now displace 2.7 liters. Additional modifications included 911E-profile camshafts, MSD ignition, later Carrera-style chain tensioners, a 930 Turbo oil pump, and 930 Turbo lower valve covers. The heads received new valves, guides, and seals, and the fuel injectors were replaced. The CIS system was also rebuilt. The seller states that the oil was changed in May 2019, and the heads studs were re-torqued at the same time. Reported leak down results were between 5-8% across all six cylinders. The 5-speed 915/02 manual transaxle was also rebuilt with new gear teeth for 1st and 2nd and new synchromesh throughout. The rear trailing arms and spring plates have been finished in gloss black and Koni shocks are installed.

    Dealer Description:

Now available from CPR Classic is this immaculate 1973.5 911T finished in its factory original ivory paint over a brown leather interior. This example is of the most original long hood 911s we have ever sold. The car is completely numbers matching, original paint example that has been cared for to the highest standard its entire life.

Ordered new with a full leather interior, sunroof, factory air-conditioning, S suspension with alloy calipers, S trim and S gauges this is a beautifully optioned 911T with seldom seen options for a base model car. We first acquired the car seven years ago from its long time owner and placed it in our private collection where it has remained until being offered for sale.

Upon arrival we chose to remove the power-train and thoroughly inspect and clean everything. We decided to completely restore the car’s power-train to CPR’s highest level. This included shovel pinning the case, line bore, polishing of the crank, balancing the rods, all new bushings and bearings, precision overhaul of the heads, new MAHLE OEM pistons and cylinders, 930 tensioners and a new timing chain just to mention a portion of what work was completed. The gearbox was also completely overhauled and a new clutch and pressure plate were fitted.

We also chose to upgrade the car A/C system to R134 with all new lines and fittings as well as a deck lid mounted condenser. The suspension was also completely removed, restored and reinstalled on the car with all new powder coating, refinished plating and all new bushings.

We also installed a partial new interior including carpet, new leather and stuffing on the front seats. The car retains its original factory dash as well as its factory headliner. The car’s paint is completely original measuring 3-6.5 mils everywhere. The car has covered just over 90,000 documented miles in its lifetime, and shows as a nearly perfect original example

This is truly one of the finest kept long-hood 911s that we have ever owned or offered for sale. If you are in the market for an original, unmolested 911 that can be showed, driven and enjoyed for years to come worry free, this is a must see example.
