CIS/Sporto car, looks to have originally been Bahama? Probably worth correcting if you could get the price down just a bit.

Looks reasonably solid, but has some needs. The "straight non cracked dash" looks off to me, I think it has a cap.

"This very straight example of an early 911 T Targa is a Blue Plate California Santa Barbara car.The car has excellent bones and largely void of rust in the crucial integrity points.
The car has extensive records from 16000 miles in 1997 to 83000 miles in 2005.This was the same owner with car being serviced by Continental Motors in Santa Barbara.
The car shows no indication of accident history, the body panels are straight with near perfect factory panel gaps. The car is not a rusty or rust history car having spent its life in Southern California. There are a couple small blisters on the body which I have included in the photo presentation.
The car runs strong and tight. The engine is a numbers matching series, the engine is number 6131007.Transmission is tight with good synchros. The clutch has been replaced.
The targa top is in good condition as is the straight non cracked dash. All gauges are clean and crisp, they work as designed. The seats are in good condition, the carpets reflect the age and mileage of the vehicle.
Tires are deep tread Michelins mounted on nice correct 5 spoke Fuchs."

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T coupe was built in February 1973 and is finished in Sepia Brown over brown leatherette. Power is from the numbers-matching 2.4L injected flat-six, which is paired with the original Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The car was sold new at Porsche Audi of Avon in Connecticut and was acquired by the selling dealer in 2017 following years of indoor storage. It was then recomissioned for the road prior to being shown at the 2017 Porsche Werks Reunion in Monterey, California. The car was auctioned by the seller on Bring a Trailer in October 2017 and was later purchased by another dealer. The seller recently reacquired this 911T and is now offering it for the second time on BaT with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, factory manuals and tools, and a clean Texas title.

Sepia Brown (54) paintwork is shown up close in the gallery along with images of the lenses, trim, and Sekurit glass markings. Three dozen paint meter readings have also been provided by the seller, showing results of between 3.5 and 5.5 mils. The US-spec front bumperettes have been removed but are included in the sale. Since the prior auction, correct “sugar scoop” headlight rings have been installed. 15″ Fuchs wheels wear Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires all around, which are sized 185/70 and were manufactured in 2016. The matching spare wheel is depicted in the gallery, and 1973 date stampings from the backs of the wheels are viewable in the gallery.

The cabin is trimmed in brown leatherette (21), which is complemented by a matching dashboard fascia and carpeting. Upper surfaces are a contrasting black, and the rear seats. A Blaupunkt AM/FM radio remains fitted, and VDO instrumentation includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer. Approximately 87,700 miles are shown on the odometer, indicating that under 100 miles have been added since the last time this car was auctioned on BaT.

The 2.4L flat-six utilizes CIS fuel-injection and is mated to a 915/02 transaxle. Recent compression test results are pictured in the gallery, showing between 130 and 145 psi across all six cylinders. Engine stamping *6133846* and transaxle stamping 7336722 match the numbers shown on the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. Additional underside and close-up detail photos are displayed in the gallery, showing what is believed to be factory-applied undercarriage coating, as well as Dura and Kamax bolts.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity reports a production completion date in February 1973, and also displays the factory colors, equipment, and powertrain numbers. Factory manuals, supplements, tools, and a Hirschmann antenna key are also included in the sale.

    Auction Description:

Offered here is an exceptionally well-restored example of the desirable, first-generation Porsche 911. Produced at the Zuffenhausen-based Porsche plant as a 1971 model-year car, this fine example was finished as it appears today; a 2.2 T model with 5-speed manual transaxle, and painted in the striking, era-evoking Signal Orange exterior color. The interior was trimmed in black leatherette, just as seen in the car today.

The Porsche appears to have led a pampered life but was after nearly 50 years in need of a restoration, and a full nut-and-bolt restoration began a few years ago. Carried out by Porsche specialist shop CARS of Omaha, Nebraska, the 911 received a full mechanical and cosmetic restoration, bringing it back to its factory correct condition. The matching numbers engine, transmission, suspension and braking systems were all refurbished, while the exterior bodywork was taken down to bare metal and refinished in the car's original color of Signal Orange using Glasurit paint. A solid example to start with, it was possible to retain the original floors and fragile battery tray during the process. Brightwork was refinished as well, and inside a new black leatherette interior was fitted, while the gauges were rebuilt. Original Porsche parts were used to ensure correctness in every way. Equipped with the factory Fuchs alloy wheels shod on period Michelin XWX tires, the Porsche 911 looks just right. The car is offered with a Jack and tools, as well as the Porsche-issued Certificate of Authenticity and restoration receipts.

    PCAR Market Description:

We are pleased to present this stunning 1972 Porsche 911 T MFI Coupe finished in factory original Albert Blue. Being the beneficiary of recent extensive work including a complete factory-spec engine re-build, this 911 T not only looks the part, but offers a world-class driving experience. This long-nose 911 shows approximately 71k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction in turn-key condition.

This 911 T was acquired three years ago by the seller in solid, driver-grade condition. Although the car was painted in Guards Red, a detailed inspection revealed the original color to be Albert Blue. As a result of these findings, the current owner smartly commissioned a glass-out respray in its rare and original color. The paint is described to be in excellent condition with a deep and clear luster. The seller is proud to note that this 911 T received many compliments at various PCA events and Porsche meets he had attended during his ownership. To help preserve the paint, partial paint protection film was installed on the hood and the adjacent areas near the headlamps. The brightwork and trim are all said to be in excellent condition with only minor signs of age. This 911 rides on its original wheels that are wearing a brand-new set of Kumho tires.

During the restoration, great care was spent in keeping the interior as original and correct as possible. The original gauges are still in the car and in perfect working order. The seats where recovered using the correct German fabric and pair beautifully with the original door panels. New carpeting and a new headliner were installed to keep with the original but fresh look and feel. Period correct wood dash trim was installed along with a Becker Bluetooth radio which are welcome upgrades.

Upon his purchase of the 911, the original engine was not running and it was discovered that the case was compromised. In the spirit of bringing this car to the high level it is today, he commissioned a complete rebuild of the 2.4L MFI motor. For obvious reasons, a period correct case was sourced for the build (the original case will be included with the sale). The rebuild consisted of a case replacement, configuration of all wearing items, and updating the timing chain assemblies for added peace of mind. All alloy components were tumbled and cleaned as well as all steel components were either powder coated or plated which helped to achieve the beautiful engine bay that you see in the gallery photos. In addition, the fuel pump, alternator, and starter were all replaced. Records of the work will be included with the sale.

The sale of this one-of-a kind 911 will include 2 keys, a clear title, copy of Porsche C of A, and records of the work performed. Accompanied by a clear title, this classic long-nose 911 is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.

I'm surprised. That's really strong money for a car that has so many questionable details and missing bits. And then there is the dodgy looking 'repair' of the front pan at the left front suspension mount. All the money for that car. IMO, of course.

Exactly. Yikes! It looks like they forgot/left the front trunk in it's original state. Look at the fuse box, brake reservoir fluid, overspray on the rubber, hints of red...

    - Considered the High-Water Mark for Porsche 911 “Long Hood” Development
    - One of 1,300 1973 T Models with Coveted Mechanical Fuel Injection
    - Beautifully Preserved, Well-Documented Example

    - Offered with Tools, Jack, Owner’s Manual, Brochures, Mirror Hangtag, Documentation, and Receipts

Following several tours of military service during the Vietnam War, Robert S. Baller returned home to Illinois and began to research a new car purchase. After comparing models and making notes in a factory brochure, he ordered a new 1973 911 T Targa from Gardner Porsche in Peoria Hills. Choosing Light Ivory paint with black leatherette interior, Dr. Baller specified the car with the optional Comfort Group, alloy Fuchs wheels, Blaupunkt AM/FM radio, and rare air-conditioning. Dr. Baller’s careful research and tasteful choices were rewarded on February 15, 1973, when he took delivery of this suave 911 Targa.

Dr. Baller cherished and enjoyed the car from 1973 until 1978, then properly stored it for nearly 37 years. In 2015, the Targa was meticulously recommissioned by marque specialists, taking particular care to preserve its remarkable originality. The car has covered just over 21,000 miles from new. Its lovely paint and interior reportedly remain in largely original order. Recently, this 911 has been in the care of a prominent Southern California collector with an affinity for Porsche automobiles and has been used sparingly. According to the accompanying Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this 911 retains its matching-numbers engine, including its highly desirable Bosch mechanical fuel injection.

Presented with tools, jack, brochures, owner’s manual, extensive documentation, and Porsche COA, this 911 Targa presents an uncommon opportunity to enjoy a well-preserved, low-mileage, open-air Porsche driving experience.

    PCAR Market Description:

We are pleased to present this exceptional 1972 Porsche 911 T Coupe. Having undergone a complete rotisserie-style restoration as well as a blue-printed and balanced full engine build, this 911 T looks the part while carrying its upgraded 2.7 L flat-six bored out from the original 2.4 L magnesium case. Confirmed as long-nose Chassis number 1883 of 2931 in the U.S., this impeccable 911 T shows approximately 83k miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction in collector-grade condition by its seller in Tennessee.

Refinished in its original color of Light Ivory White during the restoration, this 911T is said to highlight flawless paint throughout the car. The seller states that the paint color, thickness and texture are of concours quality while meter readings indicate no signs of body damage or fillers. The trim condition and fitment is said to be excellent minus a few areas of wear to the brightwork. All exterior lights are reported to be in great working order and the undercarriage is stated to have been restored to perfection. This 911 rides on upgraded OEM Fuchs alloy wheels which come wrapped in Yokohama tires.

Painstakingly restored to a minute detail, this 911 T is appointed with a Beige Tan Leatherette interior as specified on its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This interior is perfectly complemented by sport seats with houndstooth inserts. Additional factory options for this car include:

    Alloy Wheels
    Stabilizer Bars F/R
    Wheel Well Moldings
    Manual Antenna Left Front
    Loudspeaker and Noise Suppression
    Comfort Equipment
    Tinted Glass All Around

The original gauges have been rebuilt by Palo Alto and all interior accessories and electrical components are said to be fully functional. Beautifully presented inside and out, this 911T makes an excellent addition to any collection.

This 911T is equipped with a 2.7 L flat-six engine rated at about 245 HP. The original 2.4 L magnesium case was line bored, shuffle pinned, and Dow coated. Timecerts and complete Raceware fasteners for cylinder studs and rod bolts/nuts were installed along with an Elephant Racing front oil cooling system. The valve train was entirely renewed and Carrera oil-fed chain tensioners were installed. The fuel Injection was done using Eurometric Injection by Matt Blast. A new fuel tank and SSI heat exchangers were installed and the original 915 5-speed transmission was fully rebuilt with a 930 clutch package to handle the increased power.

Elephant Racing adjustable rear trailing arms, sway bar mounts and new rear ATE calipers were used to improve the rear suspension and braking while Bilstein shocks all around make for a smooth ride. The sale of this one-of-a kind 911 will include one key, and books as well as extensive photos and documentation of the restoration process. Accompanied by a clear title, this classic long-nose 911 is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.
