Clyde. Yes when looking at it it is a 2. However it must be a typo and should be a 3. Not only does the car have 1973 MY features ( black trim etc) and no 1972 MY features as mentioned the dates that it is delivered and said to be produced are early 1873 so can’t be a 72 model

Poor low resolution eBay image makes the '3' look like a '2'.

    FS: @CPR - '73.5 CIS 'T' Ivory Sporto - 61k miles

Heavily optioned 'T', kinda showed where Porsches were going in the future to expand market; automatic trans, AC, etc.

    Dealer Description:

CPR Classic is delighted to offer this immaculate 1973.5 Porsche 911T Coupe Sportomatic finished in its original color combination of Ivory over a Brown leatherette interior. This example has traveled just 61,000 miles since new and has been cared for to a very high standard throughout its life.

This example was sold new on April 10th, 1973 through Art Bunker Porsche Audi in Kansas. Carrying an original MSRP of 10,363.00 this 911T was optioned as follows:

    -Sportomatic Transmission
    -Ivory
-Options Group G03 (Air conditioning and tinted windows)
    -Chrome Fender Strips
    -Appearance Groupe (911S deco trim)
-Pre-Cast Alloy Wheels (“Cookie Cutter” Wheels)

This example presents today as a highly preserved, sorted example throughout. The car has been cared for with originality in mind and has received what it has needed throughout the years to maintain a high level of finish. The car has received one exterior repaint that meters between 6-15 mils throughout, with most readings in the 6-10 range. The interior is very original and in nicely preserved condition. The front seat covers, headliner, and visors have been replaced. The dash, knee bolsters, and A/C register are original and in beautiful condition.

Recently the car has benefitted from a multitude of service work and detail preparation to ready it for sale. The Alloy Wheels have been stripped and refinished and the car received a new set of Michelin Defender tires. A painstaking paint correction was performed to remove surface imperfections and scratches. Also, a new A/C compressor was installed and the system was recharged and tested.

Upon arrival at CPR Classic, the car was thoroughly inspected and found to be in excellent mechanical condition. The sporotmatic transmission is in perfect working order and engages and disengages with ease.

The car is offered with a documentation set that includes the original window sticker and purchase agreement, a very rare sight to see. Detailed documentation dates back to 1999 with sporadic documentation here and there before. Based on the records, we can confidently conclude that the car is a true 61,000-mile example.

The car can be converted to a 915 manual transmission at an additional cost if the new owner would prefer it.

This 1973 911T presents an opportunity to own a beautifully cared for, sorted, ready-to-drive example that will serve its new owner with many miles, and tons of smiles!

If you are in the market for an excellent Long-Hood 911 at an attainable price, this is a must-consider example.

    BaT Description:

This 1973 Porsche 911T Targa was sold new at Porsche/Audi of the Palms in West Palm Beach, Florida in April 1973 and is said to have remained with its original owner until 2017. It was repainted the original shade of Metallic Green in 2017, and the interior was also refreshed with black leatherette upholstery along with houndstooth seat inserts. The car was previously listed on BaT in May 2018, and subsequent work included rebuilding the numbers-matching 2.4-liter flat-six and five-speed manual transaxle, servicing the air conditioning, and Jet-Hot coating the exhaust system. This 911T Targa is now offered by the selling dealer in Michigan with factory books and manuals, a stamped maintenance booklet, recent service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, and a clean Illinois title. A glass-out repaint was performed in 2017 in the original shade of Metallic Green (83), with photos taken during the process provided in the gallery below. The car retains factory US-market rubber bumperettes and lighting, including “sugar scoop” headlight housings and all-red taillight assemblies. The 15″ Fuchs alloy wheels wear 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, and a spare is mounted in the front trunk. The car is equipped with chrome lower rocker trim, a polished Targa bar, and black Porsche lettering on the engine lid. The removable targa top was water tested for leaks in 2018.

The interior was refreshed in 2016 with replacement black leatherette vinyl upholstery and houndstooth cloth seat inserts. A later Blaupunkt radio is fitted in place of the original ‘Frankfurt’ unit, and the car came factory-equipped with air conditioning, which was overhauled in 2018. Stock VDO instrumentation includes a central 8k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer reads approximately 35k miles, roughly 100 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

The 2.4-liter flat-six features Bosch CIS fuel injection and is paired with a 915 five-speed manual transaxle. Factory-rated output was 140 horsepower when new. Work performed in June 2018 by Carrera Car Shop of Huntington Station, New York totaled $30k and included a rebuild of the engine and transaxle, refinishing the engine baffles and cooling fan, and Jet-Hot ceramic coating the exhaust. Engine stamping ☆6133618☆ matches the number shown on the accompanying Porsche CoA, confirming it as original. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity displays the factory colors, options, and powertrain numbers. The video highlights the vehicle’s exterior and interior and also shows footage of the engine idling.
Bid to $110,000 on BaT on 1/25/24.
