    Center fill tank

This is (like) my current tank / spare wheel set up.

But I would like to change to a center fill tank, with 'inside filler' ie the filler does not go through the hood - like is often seen - rather you lift the hood to access the filler cap.

What are my options here and how much is it likely to cost me to change?

Chris - it's achievable without changing your tank...

If you have a plastic tank as in the above photo then you will not be able to convert it to centre fill unless you are a plastics wizard. The factory did use plastic centre fill tanks of a different deisgn. If you have a steel tank then the conversion to centre fill is relatively easy, there are a couple of suppliers if the 100 mm caps and necks here in the UK. Then all you need is a good fabricator who is prepared to work on a fuel tank.

I should have been a bit clearer with my previous post - the plastic tank can be converted without any surgery but it won't exactly be a centre-fill.

Here's a picture of how Kurt Zimmerman did his clever conversion:

... or if you want a centre-fill metal fuel tank conversion - I can supply one for you (with the correct finned cap).

Here's what I did with my existing metal tank and FRP hood.

You could make it center fill if you had the fill pipe mandrel bent to the location ofyour choice...
