1973 S Targa at European Collectibles

Has anyone seen the 73S Targa at European Collectibles? They have lots of photos on the web and claim it to be an original 38k mile car. The dash has been replaced and boy do those knobs and the gear shift knob look like they have seen more wear than 38k miles. I think it has more miles on it than they claim and was wondering if anyone is familiar with the car and its history.

    Thanks.

maybe the car sat out in the sun a lot? would explain why the dash was replaced and the recent respray as well.

    Hey Bill,

How's the project coming? Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Supposedly the car was owned by one guy for the past 21 years and he only drove it 1,000 miles. WTF? I am still inclined to believe that it has 138k on the clock. But I could be way off.....

Actually the ad just says that the odometer reads 38,000+, I don't think it says that they believe it to be 38,000 and not 138,000. That decision is left to your judgement. I'm going with the 138,000 personally. The car is on ebay right now, or may have ended today.

Yeah, I agree with you on the odo, but the dealer is making strong claims that the car is 38,000 original miles. No paperwork to support that claim as I understand it.
