    Smile PIXAR's Motorama .....

Most know I work at Walt Disney Imagineering ( for the last 19 years... )

Disney bought PIXAR last year and I've been helping with some co-produced projects. The PIXAR team got wind that I was a 'car guy' and invited me to their annual 'Motorama' employee car show held last Friday at their beautiful facility up in Emeryville CA. by the East side of the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge.

So, I took Thursday and Friday off, packed up the old blue car, and off I went to stay with some friends in San Ramon... about 30 miles Southeast of Emeryville......

The other contact and friend is R Gruppe website creator Gary Schultz, who not only works for PIXAR, but was entering his super cool '67S in the show as well ....

Got up to San Ramon in the late Thursday afternoon, cleaned the 350 miles of grime off the car, took my friends out to dinner, and talked to Gray to meet Friday morning with time enough for a fun drive on the way to the show....

This, my friends, has been one GREAT weekend...........

    - Waiting for Gary at the local Starbucks........
    - Nice wheels/tires/lights/motor/everything ...

Gary has been with PIXAR for 11 years and probably knows every possible way to get to work......

He turned the 30 miles into about an hours worth of very fun/fast driving.......

We arrive at PIXAR and the first person we see is Registry/RGruppe member and friend Frank Saucedo. Frank and his wife and boys were up with his guys at GM Styling Studio with Jay Leno's turbine powered GM concept car.......... and... Franks newly finished VW Thing hot rod ...

The PIXAR characters were there to greet you ....

Both of these vehicles are fully functioning

'Mator' is on a chopped GM 1/2 ton with a 'big block' and an automatic...

'McQueen' sounds like it has a full-out 'small block' with straight pipes...
The proportions of 'McQueen' are amazing... the wheel base is close to a 911, but the tires are about 20's ....

    Pretty damn cool....

My favorite car of the show was driven in from Fantasy Junction right across the street.......

    It's a 1953 Maserati A6GCS 2000 with body by Fantuzzi...

I've seen this car before across the street but never had the distance or light to fully appreciate it like I did on Friday...

    I was in love........
