    Keep looking.

    Now that she is safely tucked away in a garage it's time to share my
    find with everybody. It needs a lot of work but I got it at a price which
    will allow me to either have the work done and not be underwater or
    pass it to somebody who can afford the work and buy myself a decent
    but less desirable example.

    Bragging aside, the point of this post is to assure those looking that
    these cars are still out there. I searched online every couple of days
    for 2 years before finding this one rusting in somebody's yard.

    So the details:

    1967 911S matching numbers
    - sport kit
    - rally kit
    - recaro seats
    - 100 litre (26 gl) fuel tank
    - original rhd
    - lsd

    The underside rust is significant, the front pan is completely shot and
    the rockers will need replacement too.

    Sadly the original colour was bahama yellow which I'm not overly keen
    on although I do like the current colour. I'm in South America at the
    moment so I haven't seen it in person yet but I'm told the tool kit is
    missing as is the hood crest. It does have 5 4.5" Fuchs though.

    Great car you have found! Would very much like to see some more pictures. Please bring it back to the original colour. What options came with the "rally kit" and "sports kit" in 1967? BTW: looks like a very late 1967 production.

    Great find well done!!! you're lucky that it was painted Bahama yellow it's a great colour that is highly sought after! show us more pictures please of the interior, the engine, the tank, and the rally stuff!!!!

    According to the brochures another member so kindly pointed me to
    the sportkit upgraded the venturis, jets, plugs, carburetor covers,
    and oil collection box for a power gain of 10HP.

    The rally kit added the recaros, susbtituted rubber floor mats for
    carpet, added "special foot rest for left foot of driver", and
    upgraded the brake pads, stabilizer bars, konis, and tyres.
    Deleted were the "front bumper supports" (read weights) and
    auxiliary gas heater.

    The rally kit also included polishing of intake manifold and cylinders,
    competition clutch and flywheel, special alternator and reinforced
    engine mounting.

    It was an April 1967 production which puts it toward the end of the
    model year. It is approximately 500 cars from the end of the 1967MY.

    I will post some more pics once I resize them.

    Me too, it's not so exciting but since you asked...

    I found an ad on an obscure but free website for Porsche cars and bits
    http://www.porshads.com.au.

    It was listed as a 1966 911S, since 1967 was the first year of
    S production something was fishy. I emailed the guy and asked about
    the car, he didn't seem to really know what it was but said that somebody
    else who had looked at the car told him it wasn't an S and we left it
    at that. I wasn't specifically looking for an S but the price he had on
    it was too high for a normal with rust issues.

    Some weeks later he emailed me with some pictures, including the
    aluminium id plate. In the top left corner it said "911S". Some people
    have claimed that the chassis number should read XXXXXXS but as
    we've seen here recently there were variations and the plates were
    stamped both ways. This plate was stamped with just the chassis
    number with no S appended, just 308032.

    I rang Porsche Australia who were able to lookup the build sheet and
    confirmed the numbers matched and gave me the options list. Most
    helpful. Since I'm in Chile for the year I asked my brother in law who
    is an insurance assessor and trained as a panel beater to check out
    the rust for me and when he confirmed that it was repairable I bought
    the car.

    The history of the car is a bit murky, the PO says he that he's had it
    laid up for 15 years. It's a UK delivery to Yorkshire before being
    imported to Australia.

    If there's anyone about who remembers this car from Yorkshire 20+
    years ago or could help trace the original owners I'd appreciate the
    assistance. Maybe we can track down the tool kit!

    Woohoo, another UK survivor! You don't happen to know what it's original registration number was in the UK do you?

    My geography is struggling a bit, will it end up in back in the UK or will it stay in Australia?
