I've been told to never remove the spark plugs before a 911 valve adjustment. That can cause deposits to fall between the valve and seat making the valve lash too small when they are gone. Is that a problem anymore?

I've never had that happen to me, but usually I'll remove the spark plug after I get each piston to TDC for the adjustment, then by the time I'm done the engine has gotten easier to turn. If I'm going to do a leakdown test then I definitely don't remove the plug until the piston is at TDC.
