This is a chance to own a true future classic! Who would have thought in the early 70’s that a soft window Targa 911 would bring over $100,000 30 years later?! With limited production, the 993 Targa is truly the best of a coupe and convertible. And, the 1998 993s are becoming some of the most collectible. This particular model is one of the last air cooled Porsches to ever roll off the assembly line.

The 993 variation of the Porsche 911 Carrera has always been regarded as the best of the great “air-cooled” era. In particular, the 1998s were the most refined and lowest number produced. These cars had the perfect blend of classic Porsche performance with modest creature comforts. In particular, the Targa was revolutionary with its sliding glass design. This gave it the sports-purpose look of the coupe with the open-air driving of a cabriolet.

This particular vehicle is exceptional. It would be a great car to enjoy at your local PCA events as well as to compete at your PCA concours events. With it’s low mileage and very original condition it is definitely a candidate for being a potential collectible Porsche.

It is obvious that this 993 was never abused, tracked, or driven in harsh weather. It has always been a “sun-belt” car. Recently, a major service was performed.

This car was most likely special ordered due to its unique and very desirable color combination as well as its extensive option list. I have never seen a 993 with this many options. Most likely the MSRP on this Targa was over $90,000!

    Options on this car include:
    XE3 Dimming rear view mirror
    X46 Aluminum tiptronic shifter
X52 Console CD holder for 5 discs
    X54 Oval Chrome Exhaust Pipes
X70 Metal door sills with insignias
    X71 Aluminum Instrument Dials
    X98 Aluminum/leather parking brake handle
    224 Active Brake Differential
    249 Tiptronic transmission
    425 Rear wiper
    432 Sports steering wheel
    437 Comfort seat left
    438 Comfort seat right

    Paul,
Car looks nice, and I am not looking to razz you. But I wouldn't call white with black interior a "rare" color combo

We've been looking for a 993 C2 Coupe or Cab to replace the MX-5 for a daily driver. Seems everything seems every 993 in SoCal got ordered with a grey interior or has some sort of strike against it.

I think the black interior was rare on the 993 Targas as it seems that most had the lighter colored interiors. My 993 Targa is also white, but with the gray/black two toned interior. I wasn't a fan of the gray initially, but the black contrast (dash, and door tops and headliner) make it look much nicer, while the gray seats stays cooler when you have that big glass roof open.

I agree. Cabs and Targas didn't get dark interiors very often. Also, it seems that I don't see white on black very often (compared to silver and black). Lately, I'm seeing more clients looking for white on black too. Maybe white is the "new silver?!"
