1973 2.4S - build date / chassis number ?

I'm trying to find the build date for my 1973 2.4S.

My letter from Porsche states it was built in Jan 1973, but then says it was registered 1st Jan 1973

My chassis number is 9113300807

Anyone know the build date for their cars with numbers either side of mine? Could it be possible my car was built very late in 1972?

I'm going to enquire again with Porsche to see if they might have more info.

January 1973 build - I don't have a day.

Documents are commonly done retro-actively to Jan 1 of any given year for tax/legal reasons.
Who registers a car on New Years Day anyway?? Isn't the DMV (or the TUV) closed?

Just been speaking to Porsche UK & from 'their' info they can only tell me it was a Jan '73 build. Based on some of the chassis numbers above this looks correct ?

Not sure if Porsche Germany will have any more info ?

The reason I'm curious about the build date is in the UK, if your car is manufactured before 1st Jan 1973 the road tax is free ( £ 0 )

After 1st Jan 1973 and you have to pay £180 / year ( approx $360 / year tax)

Seems correct to me.

Mine is 9113300553 and build date is Nov 1972. First registered 9 Jan 1973.

My chassis # is 9113300964, firt registered in France April 13, 1973. COA has no build date.
