    Alternator / Generator

My Alternator is gone. I haven't done this in a while. Is there someone out there that sells them with return of the core? Someone told me the only option now is to send the original off to be rebuilt... is that true??

I would rather send it out to be rebuilt, It's cheaper and easy, no fiddling around with the wireing and voltage regulator or machining(sp?) of the housing to make a new one fit...IMHO

Thanks..I'll take you up on that, I'm in Louisville alot. Bill (wm711) and I will take it out this weekend.

To make sure that its the problem and not a faulty warning lamp what should the voltage be and where do you measure?
