That's the LWB one. Couple of old threads on that one. Search for Bill Noon posts. There was also a recent mag article on it. Excellence I thought.

    LWB with SWB Serial Number?

Not to provoke anything (I have been around long enough to observe a lot of automotive abnormalities), but how did a LWB car get a 118... serial number? I would have thought 119... to have been more likely for a LWB tub. I suppose it gets down to when the serial number is assigned (I thought before anything was built). However it's a race car and who's to say what kind of tubs lay in the race shop 40 years ago with or without serial numbers?

Admittedly 11899001R-11890019R is one of the serial number ranges for 911Rs this is listed in my copy of "The 911Red Book".

What does this prove? There's even more stuff I don't know that I had originally imagined.

Is there a 911R resource that I can read to find out more about these cars?

    thanks

    johnt
