Thread: Show your Wheels

    Show your Wheels

I love the fact "Show your rides" is followed by "Show your seats" at the top of General Info. You guys are a wacky bunch.

But what about wheels? I've seen a LOT of ways to finish Fuchs as well as some solid non-Fuchs solutions to putting wheels on the early cars, such as widened steelies, ARs, Minilites, etc.

Of course, I have a motive. I've pulled my deep sixes for refinishing. I'm leaning towards factory, but am curious to see/compare what others have done. Such as subtle mods to the paintlines on deep sixes, RSR finishes on various wheels, etc. I've searched this forum and others, but haven't found a single thread that can help people in my boat and can't think of many places that would be better suited to host/create it than this one.

    Thanks!

    Pete,

Some shots of the RS 7' Front and 8" rear Fuchs wheels currently on my
'70 911T. Finish by Weideman, naturally, per my request. Polished rim and spoke surfaces, all anodized clear. Center caps painted with VHT exhaust paint and baked on. Very durable.

Overall shot of the car (first driven to R Gruppe in SLO May '07) so you can see the effect of the "colorless". wheels.

    Regards, John

This is a 951 7x16" on the front of mine - stripped to naked finish, then rim polished, then whole lot anodised. It's a sort of 'fresh-from-the-press' look. I love it

    Pete,

As promosed, my spare tire arrangement, 944 Turbo wheel in a Carrera tank, and some shots of other wheels I took at German Auto Fest two weeks ago.

The fully anodized black wheel with polished rim by Harvey Weideman only appears grey in the indoor flash photo. In real life it is absolutely sensational
