Thread: Kremer ST Recreation in progress

  1. #521
I drove the Light Yellow ST and then the Kremer ST back to back today to try and compare the drive. The LY ST has a 2.7L 9.5 CR single plug Solex cam 40 Webers engine, while the Kremer has a 2.5L 10.5 twin plug GE 40 cams MFI engine. The LY with the 2.7L with Solex cams really comes on strong early, while the 2.5L Kremer with the mod S style cam builds a bit slower...then the surge hits and keeps pulling strong to 7500 (rev limit). I can feel the difference in how the cams define the engine. The higher CR with the GE 40s make the Kremer engine more powerful at the top end, even with the smaller 2.5L displacement...and it feels more typical of a Porsche race engine. Both are fun to drive and offer great sounds...just a different way to go down the road.

The Kremer ST is available...send a PM or email for details. gbmotorsport@gmail.com

Back from a vacation in South Carolina to attend my wife's high school reunion...and drove the Kremer ST while the temps were cool in the morning hours. It is always fun to get back into this car and be reminded of how the sounds and fury of a high revving MFI engine bring big smiles and satisfaction as you wind the engine up through the throaty dual exhaust pipes. Couple that with the feel of the Recaro ST seat that wraps around you with the smells and the feel of the Prototipo in your hands as you take curves at near full bore, and it makes everything else in the world disappear from your mind.

This 2.5L twin plug re-creation of the famous 72 Kremer ST is still available for the right person to enjoy...for about the same $ as a stock long hood 911 in comparable condition. Email for more information... you can find more build details than what you would know about almost any considered long hood purchase by simply going through this thread. The car has been sold. Thanks to all who expressed interest in it, and to all of you who have commented and viewed this thread over the last 7 years...and of course, thanks to this forum for allowing me to tell the story of bringing this Kremer ST recreation to life. It has been a wonderful journey.
