    European Oil pressure units

I have a Euro oil pressure/temp gauge in my 911. I assume temps are in Deg.C but what are units for pressure. Gauge goes from 0-10, I would assume these are in Barr (1 barr= 14.7 psi if I remember correctly).
    Thanks,
    Phil

Bar, 73 is a 10 bar gauge vs. the 5 bar in later cars

    Very close. Technically, 1 bar = 14.5 lbs. 1 atmosphere = 14.7 lbs.

Thanks, I have also heard a rule of thumb that states 10 psi/1000rpm for a healthy engine, it that reasonable as well.

    Phil -

That rule of thumb works for me. My re-built engine with 2k miles seems to abide by that rule. In hot weather (80-90) and driving hard, the pressure drops a bit.
