Help with SWB front bumper - Euro vs US

Hi all, I'm having a steel front bumper repainted to replace the fiberglass repro on on my car now. I want to get rid of the front bumperettes, I like the Euro look. Did the Euro bumpers have the hole I have indicated in these pics or not? If so, did the factory just put a plug in it?

Yep, there was a black rubber plug.

OK, thanks John. I'll tell my body guy to not weld up the hole then.

The problem is, I'm not sure you can still find the plugs.

No worries, I'll find a generic one if need be, doesn't have to be exact. I may even have the body guy paint a few in bahama yellow.....

You will find that the clear/milky plug inside the front trunk, right next to the serial number (the one with the flat head), fits the bumper hole perfectly. On lighter cars it barely shows. Everytime I find a trashed car, I always lift the hood and ask the owner how much he wants for the plug.
