idart: Thanks! Nice image. I can't believe that I only shot this car in b&w when I would see it around.

Another fantastic photo of the RS. Is this 0017, one of the pre-production Carreras? I am basing that on the positive Carrera side graphic. A good example of how Porsche set the ride height much higher than we like our cars to be now. Thanks for posting.

Just reviewed and read all the new posts. Sorry I haven’t chimed back in like forever (wth?). Amazing information, data and wait — what was Photobucket thinking? Stupid move. Glad my original photos are still there on Flickr.

@idart - any chance of resurrecting all your photos that are linked?

Guys, keep up the posts and digging through your archives!

    Cheers, Thompson

I recently got a number of Parade trophies that Bill won with the S90. Included is one of the '73 parade

Assuming that is M491 vin 1008 in first post third photo, interesting for students of evolution of 911744 (and other 73 model year). A details there is no sign of the raised areas underside lid and rear slam visible at lhs. First two series not having that modification allowing for vin start and other factors such as not all getting ducktail?

Agree with Brian's ride height observation - most photos of 73 RS when brand new or nearly new generally higher right height than conventional wisdom or today's fashion. Also the wheel balancing weights back then not hidden.

Details that become accepted not always bourne out by photos from how it actually was in the day when authenticity to originality / factory spec is the goal.

Doubt that is vin 0017 as other photos seem to show M472 exterior trim and the style side graphic detail is questioned previously by a poster here. I have seen some aftermarket or (home done) positive graphic images before

Yes, I’ll resurrect…bummer these disappeared. Here are the RSR 35mm slide scans:

Have some feelers out there, but would be curious to hear Harvey Weidman weigh in on this one, if he's seen any old RSR wheels with this valve setup.
This 1973 Riverside Raceway photo shows an IROC car with an oversized valve stem. Perhaps they were only used for a very short period of time. Looks like a 40 or 50 gram wheel weight.
