Thread: Door stops for 70T NLA.

    Door stops for 70T NLA.

Just heard from Pelican: The door stops with the 1.5" stud spacing are NLA. Mine aren't broken, they just make that awful sound followed by a pop at full travel. My doors and mounts are solid.

Any suggestions? Would just lubing the lever arm do any good? I know I can get used ones but really have no guarantee that they will sound any better.

    door stop

    ulrich,
the popping noise might be the tensioning springs shifting.
try removing the whole assembly then clean and lithium grease.
    it worked for me.

Watch the stop when you open the door. Does it "jump? If so the pin holding the stop to the car is worn. I replaced mine with a 6 mm cap bolt and nylock nut. No more jump/pop.

Harry has it right, it's the pin that makes the noise when it is loose.

It's a shame the original aluminum arm ones are long gone, they never made any noise, and were so much smoother.

Yup, tightened the pin down and the pop is gone. I wish all my projects were that easy.
    Thank you.

Yes the spring and aluminum arm stops are the only way to go. They do need service and cleaning on the cam wheels and springs to be quiet. The replacement that most cars have suck!
