Thread: New Forum...

    Chuck

Pls bring some ideas to the table for your meeting.

    Suggestion:
    1) put the section at the top in the tool bar with user cp/faq/member list etc.
    2) scan pictures from known references by model yr. by section
    3) contact members that have concours cars to take detailed photos for reference and scan and order by section (like silver 750 mile 70S)
    4) include concours judging guidelines where detail is provided as standard by section
    5) include a search option in ea section and cross to general search

You might need to spend some of the dues $'s to make this happen.

As Porsche did it/ FOB Stuttgard

    Yes please do it.

I'll even rephotograph, in color, some of a car that first appeared in Dr. Brett Johnson's book 19 years ago.

I've been looking for correct examples of 1967S and have been using Paul Risinger's as a perfect example. Some photos of his car are here on the S Registry and should be incorporated into everything that is right about the 67.

Going back to the thread on the 1971-72-73 horns, location, colors and mounting was invaluable.

This is a real good idea. Kenik...you in on this?

Great idea and I like Chuck's title.

The more the photos the better.

Is it possible to flag older posts and move them to this new forum for easy reference?

    Thumbs up

Great idea Chuck. I'm really looking forward to this. This could be the makings of the definitive archive. I was thinking that there could be a discussionary section and an "accepted spec" section subject to editing.

It's going to be interesting to see just how the hand built factory cars varied from what is supposed to be correct. "Fresh from the Factory" often didn't match the factory spec for model, type, and year. It got down right haphazard sometimes. Let's "include incorrect anomallies that are factory correct".

It would be a crime not to have such a forum given all the expertise that is available here.

LOVE the photo documentation idea (various parts of cars).

All posts should be subject to verification to avoid potential errors. i would think this forum would be the world standard on these cars.
