    Hi Andy,

How are you planning to fix the seat in your car?
As you know, I now have the 906 seat you found at Beaulieu

I don't have the frame shown in your photo of your seat, but the mounting holes / captive metal runners are identical.

Are you going to leave your seat painted / strip it back ?
I think I'm going to paint the front and leave the back unfinished / original
Are you planning to add some strengthening to the base - or is it going to be more for show purposes

Pm / email me if you like

    Cheers
    C

    John,

If you are just looking to have a very light seat....You could cut down a 914 seat...they are fiberglass underneath...has a high back.... but cut it off to the height you want...

    >>>"I clenched my teeth (to try & supress a giant grin) as I walked away with the seat - it was from a 906 ..."<<<

That's disappointing! You should have offered 5 ....

OK, any of you bargain hunters want to lend me the 906 seat so I can have molds made? I know someone who is a genius with fiberglass.

    John,

I have a bare shell seat, that a purchased off eBay a number of years ago. The seller described it as THE seat from the Bobby Rahal owned 917. I bought it with the intention of cleaning it up and using it as a passenger seat in my 914/6 GT replica.

Don't have any pics of it at the moment, it's in the rafters in my garage...and I never actually compared it to any pictures...but, I would be glad to loan it to you to make a copy.

    I'll work on pictures tomorrow.

Here is an image of an nos 906 seat. Looks like it would cost very little to make a mold of one of these and pop out some seats.
