so basically you mount it backwards? how do you rearrange/invert the countour (iirc, its already contoured the other way from how you have it). does it naturally do that when you tighten it up

    Bob,
Car looks great as always, but I think it needs a little more duct tape.

Thanks guys - I know the grill is not for everyone just like my scotch brite wheels and raydot/durant mirror.

Harry - you inverse the contour by the following scientific and mathematical method: center the grill over a soft cushioned stool, grab the outside bars and bend the other way.

perfect! I have such a tool. I have a spare grill that i accidently messed up -i had all of the bars off of it to examine the grill for this type of mod, but the bars ended up getting bent up so i guess this one is perfect for it now.

how did you get it to look so nice, clean and black?

what kind of tools did you use? dremmel? standard grinder/cutting wheel tool?

Yes - dremmel and angle grinder plus satin black paint. Also worth mentioning is that the fastening hardware and can of paint cost the same as a beat up ol' grill. You just need to find one with no torn screens.

EDIT: I need to give credit to John Goriup for shaving the two outside bars for me. He did it on a band saw which I don't have.

    Bob,
Great post and thank you. Looks great! I was part of the grill screen buy out of Belgium over on Pelican and was going to use that to do just what you posted. Your step by step instructions will be very helpful when I finally attempt this. Now to find a beat up 3 bar grill...
