classic and speed parts has a remanufactured brake caliper program for 911 and 912 brakes

    http://classicandspeedparts.com/inde...d409a9c4239e30

Our show-quality caliper restoration process meets or exceeds original equipment performance and appearance while it simplifies the core return process! Each caliper is completely disassembled, media blasted and crack tested prior to being re-plated in the correct, original yellow zinc finish. Each caliper is then carefully reassembled, using new stainless steel pistons, new seals, all-new through-bolts and nuts, new bleed valves and dust caps, new brake pad pins, clips, expander springs and hardware. Kit is complete set of both front calipers. There is a core charge of $100 each caliper. For your convenience, we have packaged the kit with core return instructions, re-useable boxes, heavy-duty zip-lock bags and UPS return labels

    My .02 cents

Just wanted to throw a vote to Eric @ PMB Performance. He's done my 2nd generation S calipers and my rear M calipers. Quality is top notch . . . better than new and his turnaround has always been more than acceptable.

They are so nice I almost hesitate to install them and get them dirty.

me too have send them to Eric/ PMB performance

Apparently there are several places that do a good caliper rebuilding job. I have send them to Eric since he is sharing a lot of his (inside) knowledge w/ us which I appreciate.

I look forward to the results.

Thanks guys. Sounds like those other guys do great work as well.

One of the big questions that has come up is; can I convert early 911 L-Calipers to Wide L-Calipers for the vintage S application? I think I'll start another thread on this showing the differences between the two L-Calipers, this way others can find it easier etc. There are quite a few major differences that would probably prevent the L to Wide L conversion.

By having Ken's L-Calipers and Richards Wide L-Calipers in the shop at the same time it will be a good time to show all the details.

Richard... everything is off to the platers. Pistons came out just fine.

    Wow Eric,
I didn't realize you were the Yoda of brakes. Wish I knew that before the whole new caliper purchase thing. Lesson learned, ha ha. I'll ask and see if there are experts before running amok half cocked next time. I'm just excited about getting this thing running expediciously.

    Vertex calipers

Has anyone ever used Vertex in Miami. They send out rebuilts for $259 with a $100 core charge. I've had a lot of luck in the 80's and 90's with them wonder about them today.
