    sunroof

911 people tend to wannabe racers and NOBODY races a sunroof 911. I clipped a sunroof onto my 67- I like the sun.

    Sunroof?

Those early sunrooves (sp?) make such a hellish noise opening and closing it seems like someone is taking the roof off with a can opener! And don't even get me started on the '97 Targa (glorified sunroof) that I had the misfortune to own!
Besides, all you coupe guys are missing the joys of an early targa!

I have a 72S no sunroof a 70T no sunroof and a 72T (RSR) no sunroof. I have no use for them. One of the reasons I have these cars is because I don't need sunroofs. That's what windows are for RIGHT?

The sunroof is usually open on my ' 71 unless there is rain or too much ultra violet.
It is just magic to have it open on a warm summer night - Targa owners will relate to this !
After having a Targa,I find the sunroof is so much more convenient to use.
I fail to understand why there is talk of the sunroof arrangement being 'heavy' - surely all the cables and the motor can't weigh more than 5-10kg ?
If you want to go racing, then why buy a sunroof car in the first place ?
TWO thumbs up for a sunroof 911 for me !!
Mine works as it should -without problems - and may be noisy compared to todays cars but is probably no different to its contemporarys of the day.
    ...just my 0.02c worth...

    Cheers,
    Dennis.
