    Broken bolt in tailight housing

I got a small problem to solve. I'm restoring a pair of tail light housings and the passenger side had one of the two screws break off in the housing that holds down the metal back plate with the wiring. What's the best way to get that screw out without damaging the 'not much larger' area the screw goes into? I can put up a photo if required.

I would try soaking what is left of the screw with Gibbs or PB Blaster penetrating oil for a day or two and then using a left hand drill to back what's left of the screw out of the housing. Obviously you have to use a smaller drill than the screw size but the trick would be to center punch the screw so that you don't walk the drill off to the side of the screw.
