Pliers minutia; you ain't a toolkit cop if unless you can answer this!

I moved this to be its own thread for more eyes:

More to my point though are the two earlier pliers. They are similar but have some very different minor features. Trying to figure out if one is correct for my '65. The other will go into my '69 bag.

Would you believe I found the nicer one buried in the bottom of an old toolbox? Totally forgot I had it.

    All obeservations welcome!

    Pliers 1:
Somewhat daintier head compared to pliers 2. Also, notice that the bevels on the tip are smaller than on pliers 2. The teeth on the pliers head appear sharper as well. Most interestingly, the pliers handles sides are rounded; pliers 2's handles are ground flat.

    Pliers 2:

    Hapewe:

Kenik, do you know definitively what vintage these particular Hapewe pliers are? Thanks.

Eric Linden told me they are correct for mid-73 cars and up.

Both pliers 1 and 2 are "correct" for the 69 kit (I'll dig a little deeper for you next weekend). Neither 1 nor 2 are correct for the 65 kit.

I have a Hapewe pliers in an NOS early 73 toolkit, I'll take pics of it to post, but I don't think they belong in the kit...I still think it's correct to have the ones about that are left and center.

Here's a 65 to 68 pliers, note that the head is all satin, not polished or "chrome like" as pliers 1 and 2.

    regards,
    Eric

Just curious, I have a bunch of random tools from some old Mercedes cars I have found over the years in salvage yards, and they look similar to these. Would they be the same? They are from the late '60s to early '70s models.

Another pliers mystery. I don't have any pics, but it is easy to use your imagintion...I have a set of pliers just like those in the pic below, but the pliers don't have the little cutouts on the pivot. Odd. Very odd.

I have a set of pliers, without the slots, just as you describe. They came in a VERY original circa '70 kit. And, I have another set of pliers I just got in a certified original '67 kit that has "Drop Forged Steel" on the inside of the pliers handles; these pliers, otherwise, are exactly late C/early SWB pliers.

Also, in this same 912 kit is one open end Drop Forged Steel wrench with slightly smaller script. I am now confident, 100%, that there were for sure small lot to lot differences in seemingly indentical tools in the same year. This would include: pliers; wrenches and even Klein Screw drivers which, as one member pointed out, have differences in the tang in the plastic handles! Personally, I don't get to wrapped up in these VERY minor differences as it is impossible to say exactly what is what.
