    Targa California spring 2009

The NFIBMT is dead ? Long live the new Targa California !

I will put together a suggested route list and lead the new "Targa California"
    Date to be announced

All pre 76 (and like themed cars like Paul and Ed's rally tributes) are invited. All makes, all types of drivers AS LONG as you keep from performing Rectal Cranial Inversions (herein after referred to as RCI ) This means that irresponsible behavior will not be tolerated. The goal is to have fun , just like we have had in past other events, and keep things safe

I will need help with printing and possibly some other logistical items (contacting hotel, places to eat, parking lot party "stuff", etc)

As with other events, there are no prizes, competition, or timed sections. You arrive at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on date to be announced, with your car in the best running order possible. You travel at your own pace, arrive at your own pace, follow the suggested route if you like or choose your own.

    Who's in ?

Larry with the brown 72 S will bring the mixer and extension cord and so will Ed ! Great - dueling hi performance drink blenders; the hotel will never be the same again. Luckily there are several restaurants within stumbling/crawling distance

website link and please check back every couple weeks while we update with more details www.targacalifornia.com

TERRIFIC IDEA! I'll help however I can. Earliest date is very close to the Techno Classica Essen - last weekend in March and often leaks into early April.

I'll try to help as well....

Last date, the third weekend in April, will make it pretty close to RGruppe when and if it gets back on schedule .....

Then go with the middle date Just like before: KEEP IT SIMPLE, all you need is the date, starting place, printed route, and the hotel. Why not use the Black Oak. They have been very friendly, and do not seem to mind a lot of folks walking around their lot looking at cars and partying

I'll 2nd the Black Oak. The parking lot layout is ideal for a car event and the staff seemed very accomodating.

Separating the date from Treffen as far as possible will probably help us out-of-towners.

I'm in. This is GREAT news.

Edit: I suppose the LBGP weekend would be nice for us foreigners as well - we could go to the race on Sunday ....

I wonder if there is any way to link the Iron Bottom site to Targa California as a successor tour? It would be great if non-Porsche people could find out about it.

    First weekend

My vote is for April 2-4.

The LBGP weekend for the So Cal locals is ALOT of fun.
The ALMS practice and race is Thursday-Saturday.

Those who went to Willow and the GP, were AGAIN treated to a full VIP behind the velvet rope tour of Penske's RS Spyder and trailers. They remembered us, and like us.

The last weekend would be too close the "first weekend of May" Treffen.

Keep the comments and ideas coming.
Eg: One of our friends (the lil blue mini with white stripes on the iron bottom) is going to check with a couple race tracks to see if we can do parade laps ! Wouldn't it be cool to do a lunch break at laguna with a few controlled speed laps thrown in?

Also- i can use some free expert legal advice on a waiver i have in mind. Best to discuss this off line of course! Would appreciate a Cali. lawyer in our midst contact me at tremotorsports@gmail.com to discuss

    thanks!
