    Build Details

I've had the build sheet for my car for a few years after walking into a local Porsche dealer and requesting it. Ten minutes later the parts guy handed me this. I have worked out a few of the numbers, but Im stuck on some of the options etc. Im sure some of you can make some sense of the details. thanks

I'm astounded at what you write!!!

Looking at the cardex, your car was supplied to Porsche Cars GB (previously AFN) in the UK - how come a local dealer to you in Aus had a copy of this Cardex???? In the UK we struggle to get any information from PCarsGB - we can pay £60 and get a crappy letter (ususally full of inaccurate details) - I've only ever seen cardex's come from the factory in the old days.

PLEASE do tell us if there's a way we can get cardex's for our cars as Porsche in the UK have absolutly no interest in assisting early car owners

If there's a parts guy in Aus who'd like to make a healthy 'additional' income and has access to these then I know of several hundred owners who are desperate for information

I got the same from the Dealer Raffey in Hamburg for my German delivery 73S two years ago. I have heard that they later that year got rid of all their old arcives including the old cardex's

    Cardex from dealer

Zithlord/Phillip: the same goes for Switzerland.
Until recently, the Swiss importer for Porsche cars (AMAG Corp.) would supply for free their detailed (cardex) infos.
Since June 2008, AMAG stopped beeing the importer and now all request go to the Porsche Corp. which charges $100 for a service.
AMAG had to destroy or sell out their archive they opened in 1950. They told me they donated the AMAG number system (which is similar to factory cardex) to the swiss Porsche Owners club.

    Karim,
Thankyou, you couldnt have answered my question better! I wasnt sure of a few of the codes. Thats a great help.

    Phillip,
I actually couldnt believe how easily I got the cardex .
Speaking of UK delivered....I think only 55 T's were delivered to the UK in 1969. Im wondering if anyone in the UK might know of this car? It came to Australia in the early seventies.

    USA (C/K)ardex

Any chance the Porsche owners club picked up the US delivered spec sheets?

Is there a chance to get one if you haven't already and you don't want to trust the "Certi-fake of Authenticity"

    Just checking

It's possible - although many of the owners who could afford a 911 in 1969 are no longer driving

You could try posting on the DDK (www.ddk-online.com) and see if it jogs a few memories.

I know of another '69 RHD T in Tangerine that was purchased by a chap in 72 (from memory) after seeing it at the Motor Show in '69 - he moved to (I think) Nigeria with the car and returned a couple of years ago - he still has the car, with the 'hand made' exhaust fashioned from a steel drum It's in beautiful condition.

Another Tangerine '69 Sporto T was sold by a DDK'er - it's remained in the UK - so there are a couple of them still here - the rest have probably rotted with the salt / weather / acid rain
