Found a 65' license plate with my initials on it so I had to upgrade. Mint condition, worth every penny!

    Here’s a sill-mount Bilstein jack —

The clips are 1/2” diameter whose original purpose is for rigging lighting on stage and movie sets. Since the passenger seat is removed and the rails remain, I was able to bolt the clips directly to the rail using the standard Recaro shallow-head bolts.

Pretty cool, Jim. It looks intended, as if it was factory. “Looks like it grew there” as we used to say in the renovation business. A high compliment, indeed.

    hi chris,

the spring should slide inside the id of the pipe freely
they should not be too loose and never tight on the inside bore.
They are as a 'spring' is and will naturally unwind out of the pipe post bending, ie they will stretch and reduce in diameter.
!2'' seems rather short and i recall mine being at least 24''. From memory we used to be able to join additional springs together,, the rigid spring on the link is not able to do this. Keep in mind that it was 'hard walled copper piping that i worked with and using "prebal benders", like these rigid benders ,, link,,,https://www.ridgid.com/us/en/thin-wall-conduit-benders ,,,but the same principals apply.

If you are making a 1 off trombone cooler it may be more economic to hire a spring from some one local.
The 'flattening' of the bends at the top (flow and return) just look fugly to me but if you are amending these to the rs cooler top connections this is not an issue.

Best of luck (not that it is needed ) and keep us posted.[/quote]

    Mark,
The oil coolers are ready to be installed. The hard lines are out getting yellow zinc. Hopefully they'll be done by weeks end. The 3 steel fittings where silver soldiered, gun blued, covered with oil, then roasted with a heat gun.

    4/6
    Yellow zinc plating done.
