    Nick,

Thanks for posting the photos. Your first picture ( photo #3 ) was of particular interest, since I've been working on some brackets to keep the headlight rims from falling off.

I made two fairly "conventional" titanium brackets which I was going to mount this coming holiday weekend. ( as shown in photos #1 & #2, not mounted yet, just a mock-up )

To have a choice, and since this is all just a hobby, fun & a game, I had also obtained a pair of stainless steel accessory latches from Holden some time ago, polished them and thought about maybe using them instead ( photos #4 & #5, also mocked up with double-sided tape ). I bought them, convinced that using them as headlight rim retaining latches was actually my original idea.........wrong as usual.

Now that you've shown that the factory actually used virtually identical latches, which I had never seen used in that application before, ..........I'm really undecided.

(all the drilled holes are my doing, to match the damned doorhandles )

Before you start drilling holes, can we talk about this? Your car is a low slung track influenced car. Those latches were used on rallye cars. Doesn't really fit the theme does it?
I just hesitate to break up the smooth lines of such a nice car with a weird accessory that only 1% of the worlds population will understand.
I know my opinion was unsolicited...but dear lord please dont do it!

You've got to have some balls to put anything on the line of the wing - but heh it's your choice - I do think they are aimed at rally versions of the 911 but what the heck ...... I still like the roof lights but they ain't going on my RS , maybe the Cayenne .....

Don't you just love it when someone throws a wrench into your carefully thought out plans? It's happened to me too just this way. I hate to say it JZG, but I agree with Dave and Jim. I came very close to the aluminum tabs as in this photo but changed my mind after some long, hard thought. I couldn't bear to drill the holes into my fender and bezel. I think your car looks fantastic as it is.

If you look closely you can just see the gaffer tape on the top of the headlight trim of my old car. No holes drilled
