Taken by Richard Griffiths at Phillip Island after I'd driven the car (RHD, Australian delivered 1968 911L) 800 miles the scenic way, from Sydney.

Here's one on my car. Got tired of those flimsy plastic door pulls breaking...belting leather works better. We are making special grommets where the leather door release goes through the panel.

And here it is with a fabricated grommet in place. Hmmm, that shape looks familiar....lol

I saw this car this past Sat. It was built by Zuffenhaus for the Targa Newfoundland. It had a few interesting features including a hinged rear window to allow access to tools and spares and this quick release roof rack.

I believe it was Nicolas who recently told me that genuine R door handles don't have 2 raised ridges on the back side as you grab the handle. The SWB guys will understand what I am talking about.

Bob, you're correct. Real 'R' door handles are smooth on the inside (see attached pics).
The last two real 911R's that I have seen in person both had repro handles as they tend to break. Note that the gasket in the first image is not correct for a 911R (mine is a 911T).
