Thanks John! Any comments from you mean the world to me, your's is definitely an inspiration. I got the grills from ebay about 5 or 6 years ago.. i think the 356 goodie store sold em, but i dont see them there any more. they have tabs that hook around the headlight ring so no drilling needed. they are made for 356s/vws so there is a bottom tab that bends forward. I had to bend it back to match the contour of the headlight ring and match up to the mounting screw hole. just got a longer mounting screw to go through it and it all holds together.
here is a pic of mine before i installed them... you can see how they hook to the ring at the top left and right and the how bottom tab needs to be bent back...
