I'd like to submit my candidate for the satanic detail of the year for our "longhoods": aluminum 356 Speedster GT bumper trim, with trimmed ends and custom-fitted to the bumpers of early 911 Porsches.

that is sick. any details on what you did with them to get them to work, and how you trimmed them?

I think that they would be more effective painted black, since all of the other trim (tail light bezels, deck grill, front grills) are all black. Lovely car tho.

I like it as is...it's different ... perhaps the unexpected catches people out... would be a shame to cover that nice alloy with paint
Without directly taking sides one way or another on the issue of should the trim match or offer a contrasting element, allow me to present another car (in its debut Concours last Sunday) that was just completed in the last few days, that also has this modification installed, this time a 356 B coupe, including an additional piece of matching side-sill trim as well.
The raw material ( photo #2 ), i.e. the straight aluminum extrusions in either 7' or 8' length is available from GT Werks, Los Alamitos, CA, gtwerks@aol.com. The 10mm socket is strictly for size reference.
Harry, that's not my orange car above, nor did I have anything to do with the making of this detail, that's all the work of far more creative & capable people, I merely think adapting this material to 911s is a sensational satanic idea and just wanted to bring it to everyone's attention.

I like it, especially with the chrome window trim, chrome headlight rings, polished Aluminum mirror, and the traditional Fuchs finish. If the horn grills were chrome it would be even better.
