PROBLEM: I live in a private community where there were complaints of excessive noise on Sunday mornings when I went out for my fun runs @ 6:30. I had to find a way to temporarily muffle the exhaust. This set up is the solution – it is installed for the first 350 yards of every trip – I remove it as soon as I get out of the community.

    1. Supertrapp exhaust on 3.6L – finely tuned to a dull roar
    2. Aluminum “rally caps” designed to hang on the exhaust temporarily. Gloves to protect my paws from the heat and three cotton duck bags to stow the caps without excessive rattling during my trip.
    3. Detail of machine screw (original Supertrapp screws sit flush)
    4. Detail of rally cap installed
    5. Rally caps installed

Wow, no holes at all? Seems like the engine would hardly run like that.

The caps are pretty loose fitting -- a lot of exhaust is able to escape the way they are designed -- there is no gasket and they kind of hang there on the machine screws. I was concerned about this, too, but my guru assured me it was okay.

Seat hinge/recliner will get polished and chromed. Kind of a 50's 60's thing. These are steel. They could be done in aluminum. I've got the weight down within a 1/2 pound of stock. Aluminum would be much lighter than stock as the no holes aluminum is 4 lbs and factory is 7 lbs per seat. I don't know how much weight chroming adds. The upper phillips head 6mm bolts will be black to match the fabric on the seats and give the illusion of the upper holes.

    And 912 POLO dash.

I really like the seat hinge idea, but I like the version with no holes better. It's good to see you developing the idea, though, and I'm waiting for the day you offer a set in titanium.
