My bet for the first picture:

BB 4300 seems to be car #3
and car #14 is certainly BB something registered.

Edit: Hugh is one of the references

Thanks. Always took note of Andrew Cowan rally driver as I had a schoolboy friend of same name — absolutely no relation whatsoever — but one of those things that seemed like a big deal in the mind of an impressionable kid particularly when he won the London Sydney Marathon rally first time 68 just as I was going to rallies more regularly with my dad. Also fact he won it in a Hillman Hunter stood out as we had one of those rather boring dependable cars in the family. Car went up in my estimation because of this — Willow Green colour still remember its registration plate!

The Linge/Falk Monte Carlo car that came fifth overall photographed from Peter Falk’s office whilst being prepared in the test workshop. Maybe taken December 1964 or more likely first half of January 1965 as homologation was only granted December and in picture it looks fairly complete even has the start number decals which might suggest it was not long before the start of the rally:

Linge when not drover was the test workshop manager
so worked with Falk. This chassis was one of their thirteen test cars. Some nice period detail in image. The guy bottom left of photo seems working faster than the rest he’s a blurr !

    Hi Steve,
It's Schenetti / Zerbini on a Porsche 911S Targa Florio 1970, GT 2 group, finished 49th. Schenetti raced until the late nineties.

Thanks. Indeed it is. Caption on original image says Zerbini Schenetti 911R Targa Florio but didn’t give year.

On Friday the 17th of February 1972, 91 crews from Karlstad started in the glorious Swedish Rally. Now drivers and codrivers had approx. 2 days of rock-hard shifts ahead of them with very little sleep. 13 different car brands (+ even more models) had the chance to win, although not many people bet a penny that NSU or Simca would be victorious
Here we see Björn Waldegård/Lasse Helmér starting to approach the goal on SS7 which was the ice of Klarälven and 3 miles long. I think it was a crooked and sweaty section plus that it had now turned into thawing weather, so the section was only run once instead of the planned 2 times. Before this stretch, they had just cleared Ransbysäter in the next 4 miles and about 25 minutes after the finish, Digerberget was waiting to be challenged with 43 km. SS. At this finish line, ie SS8, about 22 miles had been covered and it was then about 9 p.m. Now there was only the rest of the first leg, which lasted until about 07:00 the next morning, before any bed could possibly accommodate tired and sweaty drivers/codrivers. Maybe they were just tired because we can only hope that most of them had access to a shower. But it was not a given to have a shower at that time in the cheaper hotels - just so you know who are younger
Stig Blomkvist won before Waldegård. 56 finished but I don't think either NSU or Simcan saw the finish flag.

I may have found the current owner of this car, I won't make any assumptions yet, but I think it might be interesting to see if that's the case.

Hugh, do you know its chassis number?
