Thomas, Curt, anyone: Do you have pictures of Waldegaard's car at the '72 Swedish Rally? Apparently it is the same car W used at the Monte and one of the practice cars for the '72 Tour de Corse. I am especially interested in the development of the rear flares and any engine pictures of that era! Thanks for any and all help!!

    Hi Jim

here is one on the swedish rallye from an interesting angle to show the profile of the flares
i thought that car also did the 20th Acropolis Rally (25th-29th May 1972)
as car #3 for Björn Waldegård/Fergus Sager but i don't have any pictures

In will hunt around for some others for you

    sent you a PM

here is another picture of the same car about a year later in its life. I don't know when and were it was taken but it looks to me to be after October 1972, when it was used for some of the photos in the group 4 homologation papers for the RS (for flares, front spoiler, fuel system placement etc), but probably no later than March 1973.

    regards

The black and white photo is the engine bay of 911 230 0041 (S-AK 1336) the sister car to the Waldegaard one, I believe it was taken at the 1972 Monte.

the colour one is a recent one of the same car

DAMN! You guys are GOOD!! Yup, that is exactly the stuff I need. Hugh, I think you are correct--I think W did the '72 Acropolis Rally in the Monte car but I can't find the reference. If anybody has any more info or pics of the cars used by Waldegaard or Larrousse at the '72 Monte, Swedish, and/or the Acropolis rallies, I (and probably everyone who reads this stuff) would appreciate your thoughts. After recent visits with Singer, Berger, and Steckkonig, I'm thinking a lot of the tricks on these rally cars went into Red 5 at the '72 Osterreichring and eventually the RSR. Please let the information flow!
