They appear to be original headers , whats the ID,, but the filler sections look home made.. the early originals did not have such sharp bends.. I still have a set on the shelf.

    early sport muffler

    Raj,
I have an early sport muffler (peashooter) with the same number 901/1. Appears to be a conversion from a stock 2in/1out. Let me know what you find out.

    regards,

    901/1

901/1 is the part nbr for a standard factory oem muffler.

Every original muffler was stamped 901/1.

You will also find a date stamped onto these mufflers. Looking down onto the 901/1 marking, look over to the left and see if you can find the date. For example, 3/67 denotes March 1967.

All sport mufflers with 901/1 are modified from standard single outlet oem mufflers.

Raj. This Sport muffler with end caps was purchased from Porsche Motorsport in the early Seventies. The RS safari car survivor in Germany has the exact identical unit .. the part numbers were deliberately covered with a line of mig welded.

    Sport muffler part id

That is from a Pano article written by Jeff Gamble. That is the way I made my sport muffler and for many customers back in the seventies and eighties. It has the nice rasp we all like when accelerating, but is quiet enough for comfortable touring when at neutral throttle at freeway speeds.
