    The theory goes that projected core plugs have the same heat range as standard plugs, but since more of the insulator is exposed to the fire, there's less chance of fouling and thus the plug stays cleaner.

    YMMV depending on the amount of oil intruding into the combustion chambers.

    BP's are what I used to use in Z cars from the 70's. The car ran better with the tip further into the combustion chamber.
