That one is a project, but possibly a good one. This one seems ready to go for the same price:

86 Sport Purpose Carrera "O4"
Beautiful !
Here's my oldies...
The one in the background is a 911SC getting backdated, it's finished now... I should add that all 3 cars together cost around $20K, so who says you cannot have fun these days on a budget ! The backdate and repairs to all 3 added about $10K overall.. Still...
PS: On the 993 front, I never said it was a bad car, slow, or not "efficient". Simply that it felt like a GT, and both my older SC or my newer 996 (sold) felt more engaging than the 993. Yes, those are fighting words I suppose, and it pains me to say that because the 993 is the most beautiful modern 911 to date. But it was somewhat muted, vague, soft and boring to me, even on track. Sorry...
Greg.

Greg,
Thanks for your honesty. My 993 is a great driver, but lately my "fun car" driving habits usually consist of weekend jaunts and not the rigors of stop-and-go traffic. So I'm looking for a car that feels fast and fun while driving at sane speeds. Seems that an early car may fit that bill. It's a shame since I spent $$$$$ getting the 993 just perfect. Oh well...

But you know what, that is part of the fun of being a car enthusiast in my opinion. I have great fun thginking about what I want to do to improve/cutomise/personalize my cars. I then have even more fun shopping for or scrouging parts (especially old and rare stuff) and doing the improvments. I then get to enjoy the car and eventually pass it along for someone else to enjoy. Somtimes I am on the cost side of the equation (selling a car I have done a lot of work to) and sometimes I am on the benefit side (I get a car someone else has put a lot of work into). Selling a car you have invested your time and enthusiasm into is good kharma (or carma if you prefer).
