    Hi Dave,

I understand. The fibreglass front bumper was mentioned in the 11/71 dated spare parts list for the 911S Racing version, no doubt.
Already mounted this one. Not sure about the rear bumper.

The black horn grills were introduced MY73. Donīt know if earlier for the STs.

    BR

On a 1972 911ST what were the colors of the trunk area and the engine compartment from the factory?

Body color according to the factory'restoration of the Keyser ST, but I would have said black according to period pictures.

Our research says body colour too

    Less paint = less weight

Tire size question. I see 4.75/10.00-15 and 4.30/11.00-15 I can't figure out what that is by todays standards?
What is the overall diameter and width?

    Hi Dirk,

These are racing tyres and they were always described in this fashion. Google racing tyre sizes.

I have recently registered on the 911s reg forum and this only my second post. Just spent a couple of hours going through this excellent and informative thread. Thank you to all the contributors some of whom have obviously put in a great deal of time and effort into this. Apart from praising the knowledgeable contributors I do have a question. There are comments on here regarding the sizes of Fuchs wheels on STs. However, as far as I can see there has been no discussion on the finish on the Fuchs. I am in the process of building an ST on a 1972 shell and have two 7"x 15" Fuchs dated 2/72 and two 9"x15" Fuchs dated 6/72. The 9" wheels appear to have been used in competition as they have large bolt-in valve stems. These wheels have a polished lip, textured inner rim and a matt greyish finish on the petals. The petals appear to have been worked on by a single large rotary brush or mop as there are fine concentric scratches across the face of the petals. Would this combination of surfaces finishes reflect wheels on an ST in 1972? Thank you for any advice or comments you may have.

They did in later years, but rear fenders needed to be adjusted, its a rare mod on a st generally if used on circuits
They used wider mag minilight 10 inch wheels in period as wide fuchs were not available at the time.

In relation to a 911 ViN 1019 that hugh commented at the beginning of the post I could verify with traffic that its frame number is registered as SC in Spain traffic. I do not know if this is clarified here but I add the data!
