Deals Gap - Tail of the Dragon - April 4-5 2009

Some of the early 911 drivers in the Southeast will be getting together at Deals Gap - http://www.dealsgap.com/ - in April. We'd love to see some more early cars hitting the roads, so come on and join us. We've got 10 rooms on hold at Tapoco Lodge http://www.tapocolodge.com/ with just a few spoken for at this time. More rooms may be available if you want to make your own reservation directly with the Lodge.

This is not a planned out, registration needed event. Just a laid back weekend of driving and hanging out with like-minded people and checking out other 911s. But since we have some rooms on hold, please post here, or contact me directly, if you are interested on coming up. We don't want to get stuck paying for rooms that are not needed.

    Hope to see you there!

Sounds interesting depending on the "April Showers " forecast.

Did the "Tail" a few years ago on bikes ............ crazy

Either the Carolina Trophy or the Mountain Mille rally included Tail of the Dragon in one of their routes. Also had amazing other roads nearby that might be worth considering. Is the weather in April reliably unfrozen?

Yes, lots of other good roads in the area as well! As for the weather? Mountain weather can always be tricky to forecast, but April in North Carolina usually signals the end of the frozen stuff.

An eleven mile stretch of road with it's own website. Must be the 318 curves in that eleven mile stretch. Ya gotta love it.

I may try to get up there for this. It is a great stretch of road, probably best on something like a Tuesday morning, though.
