    Hi Dave...
I may have posted this earlier but in light of John's post I thought this information might be of relative interest:
    1968 911S soft window Targa
    vin# 11850036
    Trans # 4280120 901/02
    Engine # 4080165
    Type 901.02
    Build # 9525
    Matching Numbers per COA.
So my question...were targas built in clusters or groups in sequence? Do we know if 0037 was an S targa as well? On this site we now have SWT's 0032, 0036 and 0038 accounted for.

Thanks, previously I did not have the association of the build # and engine #.

11850xxx were all 911S Targa's; I have about 17 in my list. Very interesting the big gaps in engine & trans serial #'s between 036 and 038. It looks like the coupes were in strong demand.

Must have been a slow day in the Kardex Korner...remarkable detail including completion date and numbers for Webasto and Blaupunkt Frankfurt!

Please check those numbers again. A 901/16 would be from 6195001 to 6197292 and a 901/19 would be from 6198001 to 6198184 so the serial fits neither type. A build # over 12100 or so will always be magnesium.
